She hums against me and my dick presses against my zipper.
“I need to shower,” she says, searching my eyes.
I grin, stepping back as I pull my shirt off. “So do I.”
She laughs as I toss her over my shoulder and carry her into the bathroom. Ace is barking behind us, and I look back at him.
“We’re playing, buddy. I’m not hurting her,” I reassure him.
I close the bathroom door and grin.
This girl went from a complete stranger to my everything in a matter of months.
Life is fucking good.
Chapter 7
Cambri
I don’t knowhow I managed to get today off, but I’m enjoying every minute of it. Ace and I have been hanging out in the backyard, enjoying the beautiful weather.
My sunglasses cover my eyes as I watch Ace chase a butterfly. I giggle, closing my eyes. He loves being outside and it tires him out, which is good for us later. I’m not comfortable when he’s watching Jayden and me. Jayden laughs and tells me that he’s a dog and has no idea what is happening, but I don’t like it.
There’s been a few times that I made Jayden move to the bedroom and he never argues, just grins as he tells Ace to go to bed, closing us in my room.
Besides that, it’s almost like we’re a little family. Which is strange for me, but I’m loving it. Jayden comes home to me every day and we take care of Ace. Sometimes I feel like I’m dreaming, but even my dreams were never this good.
I’ve never been this happy and for the first time in my life, I’m not afraid it will end.
We’re happy. All three of us.
Just as I think it, I hear Ace make a sound I’ve never heard. It’s like a cross between a scream and a yelp. I snap open my eyes and see him rubbing his paw against his nose. I rush over and check him out, but I don’t see anything.
“What happened?”
He’s whining as he continues to rub his nose. A bit of panic sets in because I don’t know what the hell is wrong. He was chasing a butterfly a few minutes again.
I rub his nose and he yelps. “Shit, what is it?” I swat a bee away and as I do it hits me. “You were stung.”
I call him into the house and bite my lip looking at him. “I’m not sure what to do here. Do you go to the vet for this?” I shake my head. “I know you can’t answer me.”
Unsure what to do, I grab my phone and call Jayden. “Hey, baby,” he answers.
“Ace got stung by a bee. What do I do?” I rush out, feeling my eyes fill with tears.
“See if you can find the stinger,” he calmly says.
I rush over to Ace and turn his head, looking for the stinger. “Oh, I think I see it.”
“Good, pull it out,” he says.
With a shaky hand I pinch the tiny stinger and he whines. “I’m hurting him,” I yell.
“It has to come out. He can handle a little pain for the relief it will give him.”
Fuck. I try again and this time I get it. Ace yelps and rubs his face again. He looks so sad, and it causes a tear to roll down my cheek. He’s in pain and I don’t know how to stop it.
“I got it,” I choke out.
