Michelle controlled his emotions and uttered with love.
“I love you too. Princess, good night."
He couldn’t speak much, as it scared him to break down in tears. After disconnecting the call, he mumbled to himself, “Six months, dear, just six months."
Eva wiped her tears and laid down on the bed; soon she got into a deep slumber.
It was 1 at night when her stomach grumbled with hunger. Scared and reluctant to walk to the kitchen after last night's incident, she didn't want to go even though her stomach growled with hunger.
Eva tried to control her hunger, but after struggling for an hour more, she gave up. This time she first rubbed her eyes to get rid of sleep at some point. The next minute, she unlocked the door and first peeked outside to look out for a rational way.
To her relief, it was all vacant and silent, too. She slowly stepped out of the room and started walking towards the stairs with ginger steps. While she was moving in front of Stephen’s room, she glanced at the locked door. She took a deep breath and muttered some curses for him in her mind.
Soon she entered the kitchen and started her food search. She smiled at the view of the strawberry cake. She didn’t waste time and started devouring the cake. Eva was sure that Rose is the one who is taking care of her midnight meal, as till now she found solely in the dishes that were her favorites.
Eva was having the cake with closed eyes, as she was enjoying every piece.
But what she didn’t notice was the surrounding area, as in the dining room someone was keenly watching her actions.
After dinner, when Stephen reached his room and tried to get some peaceful sleep, he again got disturbed by the thought of Eva.
How can someone look so pretty in simple clothes, too? She is a beauty who is making him more attracted to her after each encounter with her.
He chuckled at the way she got scared when he entered the dining room during dinner. Her eyes got wide, her lips trembled in fear, and her body was almost frozen.
When he asked, he noticed well how she trembled by listening to this voice. It was not her fault, as his impersonal voice and hard tone are a habit of endangering people. And she was just an innocent girl, after all.
In his thoughts, he lacks awareness of the specific time the clock struck one. He recollected that yesterday, around the same time, Eva embarked on her midnight journey through the house, thus intensifying his irresistible urge to glimpse her.
With much haste, he made his way to the kitchen, only to find the lights switched off, prompting him to expect her imminent arrival. Stephen got settled on the couch that was placed in the corner of the dining room, and it was dark there, so he thought it would be the right place to get a glimpse of her.
Fifteen minutes, then half an hour, and then forty-five minutes went by, but there was no sign of Eva.
Stephen finally gives up, as she must have dropped the idea of her midnight stroll after last night. But before Stephen could move towards the stairs, he heard the door unlocking and then some footsteps. Stephen smiled at the upcoming event and again rushed towards the couch.
Stephen saw her dressed in shorts and a t-shirt. She slowly entered the kitchen, then he noticed her eyes sparked by the view of something in the fridge. He chuckled when he saw her holding the plate of strawberry cake. He noticed how she was devouring every bite and how she licked her plump lips to taste the cream that got stuck up on her lips
Stephen’s eyes got dark with desires. He didn’t know how the sight of Eva was more than enough to make him aroused with sinful desires. Those desires have now started taking control over his mind, and he was sure that this girl can make him lose his sanity—that too soon.
Eva finished her plate and was going to keep the plate in the sink. Her actions halted as she heard footsteps. Now scared, she slowly turned around and discovered a silhouette of a man standing at the kitchen door, with darkness enveloping the area outside the kitchen. Shortly thereafter, the man makes his way into the kitchen. As soon as Eva catches sight of him, her heart races with such intensity that she can hear its pounding in her ears, overwhelmed by a mix of anxiety, nervousness, and fear upon seeing the devil standing before her. Stephen Smith.
When Stephen saw her over with her cake, he didn’t control his desire to move near her. He wanted to feel her close to him again and also to smell her sweet strawberry scent.
When she heard his footsteps, she turned around to check, but when she sighted him, her smile faded, her eyes were wide infear and surprise, and her body trembled. Stephen noticed all this. He smirked at the sight
With slow steps, he moved towards her, his hands remaining dipped in his trouser pockets.
The moment Eva saw him moving towards her, the memories of the last encounter got fresh in her mind. She was now cursing herself for this hunger issue.
She was so busy cursing herself that she didn’t even notice when Stephen stood in front of her. This time she was not much close to her but still close to her liking.
Stephen kept glaring at her with his dark eyes, and Eva was trying to avoid looking at him, especially his eyes, as it would make her state more miserable. She was trying to collect herself and move out of the kitchen, but she couldn’t gather the strength to move. Her mind was so frozen that none of her organs were ready to move.
Shortly she felt some movement around her; she saw Stephen was pouring some liquid into a glass. Eva was in shock that she didn’t notice his actions and how lost she can be.
Stephen filled the glass with water and forwarded it are her
Eva looked at the glass and then at him with questioning eyes. Stephen bit inside his cheeks to hold his smile at her nervousness.
