Eva attempted to voice her objection, but Rose interrupted her by raising her hand.

“No arguments this time; just wear one of these, OK? And yes, we are starting at 8.”

After Rose left her room, Eva was busy with her thoughts. It’s a birthday party because everyone will give him gifts, except me, what I should give him. And since the things that they accustomed him to are over her budget, what options does she have? A sudden idea came to her mind, and she reached the kitchen. To her relief, she found only Kathey working in the kitchen, so she asked her.

“Can I use this kitchen? I mean, I want to cook something.”

“There is no requirement for you to ask, madam.”

“Thank you. Can you please tell me about these ingredients? I mean, if it is available,orelse I will grab it from a nearby store. “

Kathy read the list on her phone: “Eva mam, we have all this; let me help you with ingredients."

Soon Eva got busy making her favorite cupcakes. It was her special recipe. She was moving the ingredients when the Smith men reached the dining room. When Stephen saw Eva working in the kitchen, he knitted his brows in bitterness. Why did she have to work in the kitchen?

While Steve smirked, he quickly reached Eva's side, and Eva just ignored his presence. After all, she was too skilled in this now

“What are you doing, dear?”

“Making cupcakes. “

“Hmm, interesting, I love cupcakes and see how you know my choice, hmm. “

Eva paid no attention to his comment, while Stephen scrutinized everything with a stern look. He couldn't take his eyes off the kitchen counter, where his lifeline stood, while his brother shamelessly flirted with her.

Eva picked up a bowl and started mixing it in the batter, so Steve asked in curiosity, “What is this?”

“Sugar for sweetness."

Steve gave a serious look to Eva. “Why are you adding this? Trust me, you just put your one finger in it and it will be full of sweetness."

Stephen gritted his teeth. He hoped to place Steve's face in the batter, but he had to maintain control over his emotions.

Whereas Eva stopped her beater and dipped a finger in the batter,

Steve almost jumped in excitement. It was the first time he was getting successful in his effort, but little did he know Eva. Steve winked at her but before he could say something, Eva wiped her finger on his cheeks, making him look like a clown

Which made Steve’s eyes wide in surprise.

Whereas Eva laughed hard, so did Rose, who just entered the dining room, and Stephen wanted to applaud for his girl‘s act

“Mom, why are you laughing, watching what your darling did to me?”

“I saw it already, and trust me, you deserve more than this. Anyway, now you both start getting ready for the party.” Stephen and Steve left for their rooms “

“What are you doing, dear?”

“I wanted to gift him something, so I thought I should gift him these cupcakes.'

Rose smiled and teased her, "Are you sure that he is just your crush, and what was that, yes, mentor and inspiration?"
