“I told you not to run.”

I spun at the sound, finding the Alpha coming closer. He wasn’t even out of breath, more pissed off than anything.

“What the fuck is this place?” I demanded as I stumbled backwards. “Who are you? What thehellis happening to me?”

He came closer, the other four Wolves at his back, spreading out as they encircled me. “Do you want answers…or to survive?”

My knees shook. But I forced myself to remain upright as they surrounded me. “No.” I shook my head, my pulse stuttering once more. “Stay away from me.”

“Don’t you see?” one of them growled as they flanked my side and came up behind me. “We can’t.”

“We’re drawn to you,” another at my left added.

“We can neither leave you, nor allow you to run.” The Alpha drew my gaze. “Can’t you see that?”

“We traveled the caverns of the Underworld to find you,” the Wolf at my back murmured, his deep growl hitting me between my legs.

That hunger came roaring to the surface once more. Darkness…desire and the feeble sound of my pulse. Exhaustion made me shake my head. I couldn’t fight them…couldn’t fight whatever this was.

I sucked in a harsh breath as that low growl came at my back again. The vibration sent shudders along my skin and plunged down my spine. I closed my eyes. “I can’t keep fighting.”

“You never could,” the Alpha responded.

I tracked his movement by the sound of his voice alone. You never could.

“Why…” I opened my eyes to find him in front of me. “Why me?”

“That’s not for us to explain.” He lowered his head and nudged my hand aside.

I wanted to fight him, thisbeast. But the throb of his voice called to something inside me, some darkness I'd never known existed until now. In the spluttering sound of my feeble pulse, I knew the answer. It was the same darkness that called to them.

I didn’t even flinch this time when he licked my stomach, didn’t even buck and fight when his warm breath blew against my core.

“Let us take care of you,” the Wolf at my back urged. “Let us take away your pain.”

My knees trembled as that fire rose. My heart gave a last splutter, then fell silent. Agony roared as I fell. But I didn’t hit the ground, instead I hitthem.Soft warm fur cushioned my fall.

“Give in to us, or you die right here,” the Alpha's growl was warped and strange…

I whispered, “Yes.”

The cool relief of the Alpha’s tongue trailed down my neck. I cried out when that fire inside moved through my chest. Still the Alpha came closer, lowering his head to nudge my side hard enough to roll me over. This was it…this was what dying felt like.

Suspended in silence, consumed by both fire and ice, like it was lust and pain.

Power hummed along my skin as the Alpha dragged his cold, wet nose along my spine. Fur brushed the backs of my thighs as I screamed my agony.

“You’ve run out of time, mortal.” The Alpha nuzzled my back again.

The touch was like ice along my skin. He grabbed my hips with his massive paws and yanked me backwards, dragging me along the soft green grass inside the labyrinth. I lifted my head as my ass slammed against his body. A gap in the hedge was in front of me. I knew that was the heart of all this.

Home…

The word hit me as the Alpha hunkered over me, his massive body a cage that closed me in. His cock probed my entrance. Hard, thick…God, he was thick.

“Told you before, you need us.” His breath was a fiery blast at the back of my neck.

But I wasn’t dead…not yet. Power hummed along my skin as he pushed in. Energy bloomed inside me at the connection. He stretched me more than anything I’d ever felt before, rubbing me in places that felt glorious. I shouldn’t want this, shouldn’t tremble in perfect agony. But my body had a need of its own, driving against him as he thrust thatthingdeeper inside me. Until I thrashed my head from side to side. “No more…I can’t take any more.”
