Earlier, I’d yearned for him. When he’d said he wanted to bend me over and fuck me right there, part of me wished that he would’ve. I wanted him to show me all of the things he’d dreamt of doing to me.
But that was the rum talking.
I mean, yes, of course, I’d be lying if I said I didn’tstillwant that. But we can’t have everything we want, can we?
We’d had a great time today. I’d already crossed too many lines with Alejandro and now it was up to me to make sure things didn’t go any further.
First up on thekeeping things strictly professional from now onagenda should benotsharing a room.
‘We will take the room,’ Alejandro interrupted and I swallowed hard. ‘Is that fine for you?’ He turned to face me.
The truth was, no. It was definitelynotfine. Not because I didn’t trust Alejandro, but because I didn’t trust myself.
I’d just tried giving myself the pep talk to keep things professional, but it appeared to have gone in one ear and out the other.
I knew we absolutely shouldn’t spend a night here together in one room, but right now, we were fresh out of options.
Even if I was in England or Spain, two countries I’d lived in for years, I wouldn’t feel comfortable flagging down a random taxi driver in the middle of the night to drive me three hours away. So there was no way I was going to do that in a country that I barely knew.
Unfortunately, Alejandro was right. Staying overnight in this hotel really was the most sensible option.
‘Okay.’ I nodded reluctantly.
As I handed over the company credit card and we filled out the paperwork, I told myself that I was probably overreacting.
Despite joking about it before, I knew Alejandro was a gentleman, so I was sure he’d volunteer to sleep on the sofa and offer me the bed.
Plus, with all the dancing we’d done today, we’d be far too tired to even think about doing any horizontal gymnastics.
I took the keycard and we headed to the room on the ground floor. Although the hotel couldn’t compare to the Love Hotel, it seemed clean and pleasant enough. The hallway leading to the bedroom had brown tiled flooring and plain white walls with various paintings lining them.
‘So I will sleep on the sofa,’ Alejandro said, breaking the silence.
‘Thank you.’
See. Just like I thought.Everything would be fine.
I tapped the keycard on the door, stepped inside, then slid the card into the holder on the wall. The lights came on and as I took in the room, my stomach lurched.
‘Where’s the sofa?’ I said, my voice filled with panic.
‘Looks like there is not one here.’ Alejandro’s face fell. ‘The receptionist did say that the room was smaller than their normal ones.’
He was right. She did say that. I just hadn’t taken that to meanthissmall.
The small double bed almost took up the whole room. That was how tiny it was.
‘This isn’t good,’ I muttered.
‘I can sleep on the floor if you are not comfortable sharing the bed.’
‘Thanks, but no. Your back will be killing you tomorrow.’ I couldn’t do that to him. It wouldn’t be fair. ‘We’ll just have to… share the bed. Look, I know things got heated earlier, but it’s best if we draw a line under it. We shouldn’t take things further. We should just go straight to sleep.’
‘Vale,’ Alejandro said. ‘Do not worry. I will keep to my side. I am not a teenage boy. I can control my urges.’
‘Me too,’ I added. ‘I mean, not the teenage boy bit, but you know, controlling my urges. I’m sure there are extra pillows in the cupboard. We’ll just put them down the centre of the bed. To avoid any body parts touching.’
‘You mean, like they touched on the dance floor for most of the night?’ Alejandro raised his eyebrow.
