“If…” Dayne shook his head, then continued with more confidence than he felt, “No, not if.Onceyou say yes, I’ll need your help to convince her.”

Chapter Twenty-Four

“How about this?We give it a trial run first. If we fail, at least I’ll still have my penthouse to go home to.”

Dayne wasn’t sure he liked the idea of Heath having an easy escape. What if they were having problems and instead of working them out, he returned to Hoboken because it was easier?

However, he also didn’t want Heath to feel trapped. He wanted the three of them to share their lives together. Willingly.

“We won’t fail.” Dayne was determined for that to be true.

Heath shot him a skeptical look. “Relationships are difficult enough with two people, but three?”

“It’s working out for my brother. Of course, every relationship can be bumpy. We have to be willing to work at it.” And not just haul ass if and when things got rough.

Heath narrowed his eyes on Dayne. “Whoareyou?”

He finally let himself relax enough to chuckle. “Believe me, I’m wondering that myself.” So were his siblings.

“I can’t believe you want to give up your freedom.”

“Freedom feels worthless if you aren’t with the people you love.”

“Love,” Heath repeated in a murmur.

Shit.He needed to own it. Admit it. Skirting around his feelings wasn’t fair to himself. Or Heath. Or Cara. They deserved to know. “Yes,love. Otherwise, I’d be fine with leaving things as they are.”

Heath pressed the back of his hand against Dayne’s forehead. “Nope. No fever.”

Dayne shoved his hand away as an idea popped into his noggin. “If you or Cara need more privacy, or even a break, you could always use Dylan’s wing. Once they move into their new house, that’ll give us extra space. We could also put your office over there. It’ll give you peace and privacy to work.”

“Have you run that idea past your siblings?”

No, he hadn’t since he just thought of it. “I will.” If taking over Dylan’s wing didn’t work, they could always build their own house on the property, just like his brother, Erin, and Ford were doing. And if they did that, they could potentially close off both wings from the main house and rent them out like they did the lake cabins.

More income was always good.

“So, you love us, huh? It’s more than hot sex?” Heath asked.

“You’re going to make me say it?”

Heath grinned. “Of course. Did I not admit that I fell in love with both you and Cara? And guess what? I didn’t break out in a cold sweat.”

“Have you told Cara?”

“No, not yet. But I will,” Heath answered. “Will you tell her?”

“Yes.”

“Will you tell me?”

“Can I show you instead?”

“You canafteryou actually say the words. To me. Directly.” He gave Dayne a toothy smile.

“Damn it,” Dayne grumbled, pretending to be annoyed.

Heath chuckled. “I’m confident you can do it.”
