“Motherfucker… that scent…hell.”

He was spreading his fingers over my blood then and slicking his tongue all over, tasting me.

At the same time, Kai grunted and came all over his ass, still stabbing his fingers deep inside him.

It sent Vorzyr over the edge, and he was roaring out into the night and coming inside me almost violently. It set me off and I shrieked as ecstasy wracked my body, and I pulled at my hair, and slammed my hands down onto the hood, utterly destroying the metal with my strength unchecked in the moment.

As I was coming down from it, Vorzyr fixed himself, then did the same to me and even shrugged off his jacket and draped it over my shoulders.

Then he gathered me to him and eased me off the hood, wrapping his arms tightly around me. “Incredible. Are you okay?”

“Perfect,” I breathed against him.

“Satiated?” he asked.

“Nope,” Kai said, before I could answer. “It takes a lot more than that. Isn’t that right, sweetheart?”

I looked out at Kai fixing his car with his magic.

“Kai, stop.”

“Just stating a fact. If he’s going to be part of this beyond tonight, he needs to know.” He eyed Vorzyr. “Like I need to know why you didn’t take her mouth like I thought you were going to when she was inches from tasting your cock?”

“You know why,” Vorzyr grunted at him, tightening his hold on me and stroking my back in a comforting way.

“Playing with her ass made you realize you couldn’t handle it. You didn’t want to degrade her further by fucking her face like a wild beast, because you knew you wouldn’t be able to hold back. And you realized that you don’t like her on her knees for you.”

Vorzyr growled at Kai over my shoulder. “She’s a goddess. I wanted to connect with her on an intimate level tonight. It wasyouwho I scent-tracked and your desire was so potent, I knew what you were going to do. And it made me jealous thinking of you doing that with her again alone.”

“Jealous toward her? Or toward me?” Kai challenged.

“Can you tone it down?” Vorzyr asked him, with a clear edge.

“You enjoyed me playing with you, did you not?” Kai pushed, as fucking usual.

“You’re ruining the peaceful reverie of the afterglowandme trying to provide aftercare to Ariana with your fucking bullshit,” Vorzyr snapped at him.

Kai delivered a violent burst of magic to his car that fixed everything else in a moment, then he stormed up to us. “Mybullshit?”

Vorzyr eased from me and got in Kai’s face. “What is your problem?”

“All these lies and denial, all the tampering down of the fucking truth. First her, which I’ve been dealing with for years, but now you. I can’t take another person doing that to me, another person who I’ve… connected with!” He gestured wildly at me. “And you don’t fucking need me anymore.”

“What are you talking about?”

“I didn’t use my magic, Ariana! You didn’t need me to this time.”

“Oh my God,” I breathed. In all the craziness, I hadn’t even registered that yet. “It… it had to be a fluke.”

“No. I told you before that you were getting better at handling the sensations, but you dismissed it because you didn’t trust yourself. Yet, here I am being proven right.”

“It’s not just about your magical resistance to my Celestial influence, Kai.”

He scoffed. “Of course it is. You’re just saying that to talk me down.”

“I care about you.”

He stilled. “What?”
