Page 23 of Betraying Bexley

“He didn’t fail as much as the teacher was a douche.” Bronx grinned. “Besides, homeroom isn’t really a class. It’s more of a study hall or whatever. Ten minutes isn’t long enough to get to know Bex.”

“You did it in less time.” There was a hint of jealousy and maybe anger in his tone. It didn’t make the least bit of sense.

“Oh, does someone have the hots for our Bex?” Bronx teased.

“She isn’t ours,” Eito hissed. “She isn’t anyone’s. Keep your voice down. We don’t need the whole school knowing what we’re up to.”

Bronx chuckled. “You like her too, you big oaf.”

Eito narrowed his eyes. “Such impertinence used to get people killed in my line of work.”

She brushed him off. "Keyword is used too. You don't scare me Eito Wantanabe formally of the Wantanabe Syndicate."

He fisted his hand at his side. “Watch your step, Bronx Lewis. Teasing a caged demon could get you hurt.”

Bronx rolled her eyes. “You’re a pussy cat in Yakuza clothing.” She stepped closer to him, her lips brushing the shell of his ear. “I’ve had dealings with your family, remember? Still do on occasion.”

He tsked, stepping away from her. “You have a screw loose.”

“Several if you ask my doctors.” She shrugged. “See you at lunch.”

He stared after her as she skipped down the hall. Eito shook his head. Some of them like Iliana and Alé had connections before joining GIP, he and Bronx were the same way. Her father sold the vehicles a certain part of his family's syndicate stole. The side business was lucrative for the Watanabe family and would have become Eito's responsibility had he not been so reckless and headstrong.

“You know that chick?” Dawson, one of the All-American’s asked coming to a stop next to Eito.

“Not necessarily.” He stepped into the classroom and went to his desk.

“But, you talk to her.” Dawson wouldn’t let up. However, it gave Eito a chance to figure out why they liked to torture Bexley.

“Sometimes,” Eito replied.

“Do you know Bexley?” Dawson hedged.

This was the in Eito needed. If Bexley couldn’t tell them what he wanted to know, he’d go to the next best source, her tormenters. “Not really. Why?”

“She’s bad news. Stay away from her.”

Eito cocked a brow. “How so?”

The guy pulled his phone from his back pocket. “I forgot, you’re new. You don’t know what happened last year.” He hit a few buttons then turned the volume down before handing the phone to Eito. “Just watch.”

The room was dark. He could make out a few lit candles around a small cabin, he guessed. From the angle of the camera, if anyone knew it was there, they were oblivious. Then he saw her, Bexley. Timid, shy, awkward Bexley stepping into frame. She had another girl with her, a girl at that particular moment she was kissing. Eito sat up a little straighter and glanced up at Dawson. The guy pointed to the phone and he went back to watching the events unfold. The girl removed Bexley’s shirt and...Okay, I don't have to see anymore.Eito looked away. Someone recorded her having sex and if her jerky motions were any indication, her first time too. Rage built inside of Eito along with disgust. That was a private, intimate moment between two people. Whoever filmed it, violated Bexley.

“How did you get it?” Eito swallowed his fury, hoping to at least keep the guy talking.

“It was a favor.” Dawson shrugged. “I’ll send you a copy. What’s your number?”

Yes. Send him a copy and then he could use it to ruin the girl in the video along with Dawson and whoever filmed it. “Thanks.” He gave the guy his cell number. “So, what does this have to do with staying away from Bexley though?”

“I heard she drugged the girl and forced her to have sex with her.”

Eito’s phone chimed and the video appeared on his screen. “Forced her, huh?” Bexley didn’t have a mean bone in her body let alone could force anyone to have sex with her. “Hey, since we’re talking about it, how did she end up with a fake leg?”

Dawson shrugged. “Fuck if I know, man. She probably did it to herself for sympathy. Bitch is batshit cray-cray. I heard, she was locked up in a mental institution for a good portion of her life, but because daddy has money, he got her out and brought her here.”

Lie. But, he hadn’t expected anything less from the guy. “I guess money buys just about anything, huh?”

The guy laughed. “True. Hey, if you’re not busy later, I could introduce you to the guys.”
