“You’re forty or whatever,” Enzo said. “Never ever?”

Duncan chuckled. “Never ever. You popped my cherry, Bella.”

She giggled and pressed a kiss to his chest. “I’m glad it was me and not some other woman.”

Again, the heat in his chest brightened. Duncan grinned. “Possessive, huh?”

“Very. But we’ll get there.” She yawned then. “Good night, Duncan.”

“Good night, Bella.”

“I’ll make you breakfast in the morning,” she whispered before going limp in his arms, falling asleep.

“She likes you, hermoso,” Enzo whispered.

“And you?” Duncan cocked a brow.

“You’ve got my heart, homie. Now it’s your turn to figure out what you want.” Enzo kissed him again before cuddling into Duncan’s other side. “Don’t worry though, we have plenty of time.”

Duncan stared at the man. “Yeah, maybe we do.”

“Goodnight, hermoso,” Enzo mumbled.

“Goodnight, boy.” Duncan closed his eyes and for a moment wondered ‘what if.’ What if he could stay with them when his term was over? What if he told them the truth? If they researched him and his father, would they still want him? Could anyone love a murderer? Sorrow welled within him. No. He didn’t deserve their love. He could have his fun, and then he’d leave. In fact, it was for the best they knew who he was, so they’d lose interest. It would make his job so much easier. In the morning he was going to do it. He was going to answer all of their questions and then break their hearts with the truth.

It was for the best.

For all of them.
