Once again, Luca thinks about how he hates wearing pants. If he had his choice, he’d be wearing just Jay’s t-shirt, or maybe he could get Grayson to give up his. It brings to mind something else Luca requires to be content in his life: sex. Lots and lots of sex.

Weres are highly sexual creatures. Luca had read an article in one of Finn’s journals once that said, on average, an alpha has sex two to three times a day and betas almost as much as that. As a beta in a polyamorous pack of seven, Luca has a lot of really, reallygood sex.

And when Gideon allows it, he even gets to come.

Of course, Gideon makes sure Luca isn’t sliding back into bad habits. Reminds him he’s good and teaches him he is loved even without it. Some days, it is really hard to resist, especially as an anxious beta who self-soothes with instinctual sexual behaviors. He lives with six gorgeous men, and when he hasn’t had an orgasm in twenty-five hours, thirteen minutes, and four, five, six… seconds, well, Luca is highly motivated. He might even have permission…sort of.

Luca sets his mind to relieving this problem, enjoying Grayson licking the last of his creamy coffee off the edge of his finger. He pushes his alpha’s phone out of the way, straddles his lap, and settles in with a little wiggle.

Grayson freezes. “Luca. Still, please.” Grayson smells aroused already, which suits Luca just fine. He waits a tortuous moment to see if Grayson really means it.

Never one to forgo his instincts, and without a genuine protest, he presses down and grinds with more purpose, feeling Gray’s cock firm up even more. Looking into the enigma’s eyes, he relishes when the hunger bursts into flames.

Win!

More grinding means a harder cock, and Luca might solve his twenty-five-hour-and-fifteen-minute problem, no matter that the door to the waiting room is wide open. He lets himself slip into the headspace where the only thing he has to worry about is feeling good and making his mates feel good.

Grayson puts one hand in his hair and yanks it back hard, using the other to grab Luca’s ass. “So juicy,” the alpha growls. Luca moans at the restrained violence. He likes it so much when it hurts a bit, and the sharp tug sends sparks down his spine. His moan easily draws the attention of the other three wolves in the room.

But then Gray is lifting him up and off his lap, regret clear on his face.

His stomach sinks. What has he done to make Alpha stop?“Nooo. No, I’ll be good. Luca is good,” he whines. His mate doesn’t want him. He isn’t good.

Suddenly, soft hands are petting his head and thighs. “Fuck. I should have seen he was anxious earlier. He said he didn’t want pants, and we took the nest apart while he was gone. You’reso, so good, Luca. Alpha is sorry.” Grayson sounds upset about something. But Alpha said he is good, and the praise skitters down his spine.

“Luca is good?” He moves to straddle Grayson again, but Finn stops him.

“Baby, you can’t do that here. We are at the hospital with Nix, remember?” Finn says, rubbing Luca’s back. “Maybe we should just take him home.”

“Leo, can you take us?” Grayson pulls Luca forward so he can put his face in Grayson’s throat, his still-aroused basil scent making Luca’s mouth water. He starts licking and sucking a mark on the fragrant skin, shivering when Grayson groans. He wants to let the others decide when, how, or where he should be, so he lets the scents flow over him. His trust in them is absolute.

They must decide that he is good and that he deserves to come. He cries in relief when firm hands help his hips find a rhythm, his hard cock rubbing against Grayson’s thigh. It’s not as good as a knot, but there’s a burning low in his belly, so he sucks harder on Gray’s neck, letting the pleasure build. His alpha is panting, and his muscles bunch as he guides Luca’s hips. He’ll have new bruises on his hips in the shape of Grayson’s fingers, and the thought takes him right to the edge.

“You can come, baby,” Finn whispers in his ear, finally sending him over. “You’re such a good boy. So good for us.” The fire in his belly bursts and his mind is finally quiet.

He’s lifted and resettled, warm and calm, even after the cold cloth cleans him up. For a moment, the anxiety flares, but he remembers they’re going to take him home for a while, and it’s good.

Luca’s wolf wants to be in the nest now; maybe make his alphas and beta come a few times. Leo says he’s going to call the elevator while he clings to Grayson koala-style, sitting in that sweet spot between horny and asleep.

But then he remembers his baby, Nix—he wants to say goodbye to him and the others.

He wants to tell them about that really good idea. He has to save Nix.

What was it again?

Chapter Eleven: Gideon

Gideon

Gideon usually loves Sundays. They’re reserved for family now that the restaurant is thriving, and he has a great staff to carry some of the load. They had been curious when he’d called to say he wasn’t going to be available for the foreseeable future, but his house manager and assistant chef stepped up without question. It’s a relief that he isn’t as indispensable as he’d once thought. Perhaps it’s time to see if he can reduce his hours further if things continue to go well. He’s been feeling antsy of late; like he needs to be doing something new. Like change is coming.

Sliding his phone into his pocket, he lets his mind drift while waiting for the others to wake. The faint hum of activity from the staff’s morning shift change filters through the quiet, unsettling enough to stir most of them from sleep.

As groggy murmurs fill the room, he hands out a change of clothes to those already awake. Leo slips away quietly, phone in hand, to make a few calls, his expression focused and unreadable. LRH’s Ripley Records manager had been blowing up Jay’s phone. No doubt, Leo will be thinking about putting a stop to that this morning.

Meanwhile, Finn and Luca declare themselves in charge of coffee and breakfast, their shared mission sparking a brief smile. The two disappear into the hall with the sound of Luca’s cheerful chatter trailing behind them.

Jay is still asleep on the couch while Grayson and Rowan occupy an annoyingly large spot right in the middle of the floor, in the makeshift nest they’d made to settle Luca last night. Leo had spent precious minutes thinking ahead yesterday and packed two large bags with every scented blanket from their pack nest. Gideon is grateful, and it’s one more way they work so well together to take care of their mates.
