"I can't believe he did that." She laughed, sobering up.

I shook my head. "He wrong as hell for that. I guess we are on our own. So, what do we do next?"

"Skip right to dessert."

I chuckled with a nod. "Word. Let's do it then."

I watched as Avani went toward the refrigerator and paused. I folded my arms across my chest and waited for her to say or do something. She must have thought I was playing when I told her I wanted to make things official. That was something I'd never lie about, and damn sure not to her.

She picked up the box and opened it. Her eyes widened as her mouth dropped. "Akari!" she screamed.

I knew that was coming, too. That rock that was sitting in the middle of that ring probably scared Avani, but for her, I'd give her ten of them.
