Tre moved forward, putting his arm out to keep the door from closing. “Next time wait until the car is empty before running up in here.” He reached out, putting his hand on the small of my back as he escorted me out of the elevator.
The butterflies in my belly came out of nowhere and were working overtime.
“That guy was rude,” I commented, looking up at him.
I shouldn’t have done that.
His eyes pierced me as if he could hear every thought and feel every feeling I was having. I tried to look away, but I couldn’t. The energy between us was undeniable.
“Alex Franklin!” an older man called out from the other side of the lobby.
The sound of his name snapped us back into reality.
His hand slipped from my back as we moved toward the man.
After a brief introduction, the three of us entered the conference room. I took a seat off to the side and listened as Tre kicked off the meeting. Watching the thirty-seven-year-old bronze Adonis not only command the room full of older men and women, but eloquently and passionately explain the vision he had for Franklin Financial and the community at large was powerful.
By the end of the meeting, my panties were wet.
While he was preoccupied speaking with some local CEOs, I left. The way I was yearning for his touch made it impossible to stay. It took every ounce of willpower I had to pretend I didn’t see him try to get my attention.
