He brought up her statistics and found that she was Temple-trained and of a species known as Terrans. Her companion rating was astonishing. He threw his head back as another wave went through him.

He brought up an image of her and blinked. It wasn’t like any of the other candidates he had seen in the centuries. Pale. Very pale gold. Her hair hung to her knees, her eyes were a soft brown, and her waist was so small he could probably hold her in one hand. Her breasts were large, and her hips were wide. It was not a figure that the Zellic favoured. They must have really wanted him awake to find her.

She shivered again, and it finally came to him that she was fucking his statue, and she was enjoying it!

Malthua had not enjoyed sex and had never been able to take more of him than the width of her slender hand, and they had simply been companions for the two centuries of her lifespan. His people said it was a great love affair, but he and Malthua had merely been friends. She was his companion in the emotional sense, and it was her own bloodline that kept her with him until she passed.

Another wave of energy rushed through him, and he paused as it was richer than the previous ones. His muscles flexed, and he headed for the shower. He could wait for a few days, or he could just meet her now. He was done waiting.

Another wave ran through him, and his palm slammed against the stone of the shower. The female didn’t show any signs of letting up, and he wanted to experience it firsthand.

Sage slowed, and herbody was aching pleasantly. Sweat coated her, and she was going to need a shower. She reached around and stroked her clit, her tight and slippery skin making it easier to focus on.

She moaned softly as she continued until another orgasm struck and eased off once she had gotten the most out of it. Sadly, her sex cravings were cumulative. The more she had, the more she wanted until she passed out. She wanted to stop things right before that point.

She eased away from the statue and winced at the puddle left on his belly. Sighing, Sage got up and went to get a cloth from the cleaning cupboard. She was returning to the statue to clean it up when there was a chime and a door opened. She paused and turned toward the new arrival. When she saw who it was, she mentally winced but went through protocol to kneel and bow with her hands folded in front of her. This was a Temple protocol, not an Education Station one.

The Hmrain walked to her and murmured in high Hmrain. “The air is thick with you.”

She didn’t respond. The comment didn’t warrant it.

He walked around her slowly, and to her shock, he had a tail. No Hmrain had tails as far as she knew.

The tail lashed as it went past her, so she definitely was seeing what she thought she was seeing.

“Lady, why are you huddling on the floor?”

“Because I can’t hover, Overseer Zell.”

He chuckled and crouched in front of her. “Look at me.”

She said, “It is inappropriate.”

A slim, smooth appendage slid under her chin and lifted her head to look at him. “Interesting. You are cute. Like a child’s toy,”

She swallowed. “I am above average for my species.”

The tail wrapped around her throat and lifted her. She remained limp until he dragged her to standing. Zell examined her, turning her head from side to side. When the tail loosened, she breathed calmly. Remaining calm was her superpower.

Being eye-to-nipple with the ruler of a star system wasn’t what she had anticipated. His torso was covered with glyphs and markings that were carved into his chest in black and gold. They were very pretty but not shown in his statuary.

He sighed. “Look up.”

She looked at his features, the black eyes, red skin, and black and gold ombre hair. She smiled. “Good evening, Overseer Zell, third among ancient Hmrain.”

“You have done research.”

“It was a boring flight.”

He blinked in surprise and then smiled. “Was it a great distance?”

“More than my people could manage in a hundred lifetimes, but by your standards, no.”

“Where are your people?”

“Scattered through the stars. Our world is dead.”
