“Why? They were psychotic. I’m glad they’re dead.”
“Wow… Now I’m really sorry you were raised like that. Parents should love their kids unconditionally.”
I had nothing to say to that. I’d never felt love, or at least not from what I could remember. I understood it, but those feelings didn’t exist for me. A person was either mine or they were not.
When we finished dinner, I paid, and we went back to my condo.
When we stepped inside my place, we took off our shoes, and Thomas took a casual look around as I hung up his coat and scarf in the coat closet. “Wow. I think your house is bigger than mine. It’s really nice, but…”
“But what?”
He turned to face me with big blue eyes, pushing his glasses up his nose. “It’s missing some personal touches.”
I shrugged. “It’s just a place where I sleep and eat. But I do have a couple of photos over there,” I said, pointing at the large coffee table in the living room.
He walked over and lifted a family photo of Dalton, Sid, Owen, and me. The other picture was the one Sid gave me last year. It was from a few years ago, after we had a sparring session.
“Who are these men?”
“My new family. The taller one is Sid. He adopted me.”
Thomas’s eyes took on a dreamy quality. “That’ssonice. I’m glad you found a family to love you. But I thought you said you didn’t have siblings.”
“Owen is Dalton’s son. I suppose since he’s theirs, he’s also mine.”
“Family comes in all shapes and sizes,” he said intuitively.
“I agree.”
Thomas stepped over to me and tentatively rested a hand on my chest. “Thank you for dinner. It was really nice. I liked getting to know you.”
“You’re welcome.”
“Are we going to fuck now?”
For the first time since I met Thomas, I genuinely smiled. He didn’t seem the type to use expletives, so I found it funny. I also looked forward to the sex.
His hand moved across my chest as his eyes landed on my mouth. “God, you have such a nice smile.”
“Thank you. You do, too. I like your dimples.” I wrapped an arm around him and pulled him tight against me. “We’re going to fuck, but I am going to kiss you first.”
“Have you ever been kissed?”
“No, but I’ve seen it done many times. And there will be no mention of past boyfriends ever. You’ve been untouched by anyone other than me, as far as I’m concerned.”
His breath hitched, and his eyes hooded. “Yes… God,” he breathed. “But I still don’t understand what you see in me. I’m a nobody. I don’t have money, I still live at home, and my job is lame.”
“Those things are trivial.”
“Not to me.”
Surprisingly, I understood what he meant. “They are trivial betweenus… They do not shape my need for you.”
His cheeks pinked. “I really like that. You have an amazing way with words that makes me feel important and… Well, I like how you talk.”
“Thank you.”
Before he could say another word, I covered his mouth with mine. A moan escaped him, so I kissed him harder. When his lips parted, I thrust my tongue into his mouth. I held him tight against me, feeling his cock harden against my groin. I grew hard in response.
