“I'm obviously not doing this right,” Jake’s voice said, pulling her from her thoughts.
“What?” she asked, totally confused, then realized that his mouth had been teasing her needy bundle of nerves and she’d been too lost in her own head to even realize it. “Oh, sorry,” she said sheepishly, feeling her cheeks heat with embarrassment.
“Want to tell me what you were thinking about so hard that you couldn’t even feel what I was doing?” Jake asked. There was no anger in his tone, no annoyance or irritation, just a little bit of concern and a lot of tender affection.
“Just thinking about how glad I am that you're here,” she replied honestly.
Understanding filled his dark eyes. “I'm sorrier than you’ll ever know for walking away yesterday. I shouldn’t have left your side, not even for a minute.”
“I know you're sorry, Jake. I'm not angry, maybe just a little bit hurt still, but I get it, we talked it through and we’re good.”
“I just need to prove to you I won't leave again.”
“I know you won't.”
“You want to believe that, but you still have a tiny bit of doubt.” When she opened her mouth to protest, Jake took her bud between his lips and sucked hard, making her words turn into a breathy moan. “It’s okay to have doubts, sunshine. It just means I need to work harder to prove to you that I'm serious when I say I want forever.”
Most of her doubts weren't even Jake’s fault. A lifetime of being unwanted and unloved by the people who made you and brought you into this world had messed so deeply with her sense of self that Alannah suspected she would always carry that thread of doubt.
But it didn't have to rule her mind or her life.
Jake loved her, he wanted to be with her, and she loved him too. They could build their own family where neither of them would ever doubt their worth again.
That was what she wanted for them.
Then one day, when they were ready and this threat against the Charleston Holloway family was eliminated, they could think about bringing some new little lives into the world. Children who would be loved unconditionally and would never for a single second feel the pain that she and Jake had experienced growing up.
“Forever,” she said, and made a conscious decision to let go of all the negative thoughts and feelings inside her. It would take time, and she knew that she was going to need a lot of counselling to handle everything she’d been through, but in this moment, she only wanted one thing to exist.
Her and Jake and their love.
“Mine,” Jake said before his mouth descended on her, finally stealing her ability to think.
His tongue seemed to be in two places at once, thrusting into her and tending to her bundle of nerves simultaneously. And then his fingers were inside her, grazing that magical spot that had stars dancing behind her closed lids.
Spreading her open with his fingers, his tongue delved deeper, those stars shone brighter, and sensations flashed through her body at warp speed. Then his fingers were pumping in and out of her, and his mouth latched onto her bud, suckling it hard, the tip of his tongue swirling over it again and again until it shoved her off the edge.
Right into the most intense orgasm of her life.
She cried out Jake’s name as her head thrashed on the pillow, and her hips rocked frantically as Jake drew out every single drop of pleasure from her that he could.
When her eyes finally fluttered open again as all that remained of the earth-shattering orgasm were a few flutters, she saw Jake smiling smugly.
“Bet you weren't thinking of anything then, sunshine.”
“Only about how good you make me feel.”
“Happy to hear that, because I'm ready to make you come again.”
Alannah giggled. “I don’t think I can. After last night and then that, I think I'm all orgasmed out, used up my quota for the week.”
“Oh, baby girl, you have so much to learn. Who are you?”
“I'm yours,” she answered without hesitation.
“And who am I?”
“You're mine.”
