Page 37 of The Christmas List

Most of my childhood memories include Josie, and I want her to be part of all my future ones too.

Carefully, I untangle myself from Josie and grab my boxer briefs from the floor, dragging them up my hips. With how late I kept her up last night, I don’t want to wake her. Every time I thought we were done, one of us would reach for the other, and then suddenly, I would be inside her again. With my tongue, my fingers, my cock.

Her riding me, me taking her over the edge of the couch while those bright red nails bit into the couch cushions.

We were insatiable in a way I’ve never experienced.

It wasn’t enough. I don’t think it ever will be.

Padding quietly into the kitchen, I pull out everything I’ll need for breakfast and get started. When my girl wakes up, I want to bring her breakfast in bed, and my one specialty?

Chocolate chip pancakes. Lucy bug’s favorite, and knowing Josie and her sweet tooth, she’ll love them too.

Just as I’m plating the last couple of pancakes, I get a text from Grams saying that Lucy is dying to come home to see “Miss Josie.”

I set my phone on the counter and walk back to my bedroom, striding over to where Josie’s still bundled beneath the covers. The large blanket has pulled low on her naked frame, exposing her back and the swell of her perfect ass.

Hell, everything about her is perfect.

Sitting on the edge of the bed, I tenderly ghost my fingers down her spine, then brush back a lock of her dark hair that’s fallen over her cheek.

“Honey.”

At first, she doesn’t stir, so I lean down and press my mouth against the corner of her plush lips, trailing my kisses lower to the sensitive spot between her shoulder and neck.

She lets out a breathy sigh that has my cock twitching in my boxer briefs.

I could listen to those little sounds she makes for the rest of my life and never get tired of it.

“Wake up, honey.”

Finally, she cracks open an eye, giving me those dark brown eyes I could drown in and a cute, sleepy smile.

“Good morning.” Her voice is low and raspy from sleep.

I grin. “Morning, honey.”

“Mmm. What time is it?’”

Leaning down, I cup her cheek and give her an unhurried kiss before pulling back. “Just after ten. I made you breakfast. And… Lucy wants to come say hi, but I wanted to check with you first.”

“Of course. I always want to see Lucy.” She smiles, and my heart squeezes in my chest.

I wish she truly knew how much it means to me that she has this easy, completely effortless relationship with my daughter.

Both of my girls together.

It’s a dream.

As much as I would love to stay in bed with her all day, the second she learns that Lucy’s going to be heading this way soon, she’s up and dressed and at the kitchen table waiting for her within minutes.

Not long after, Luce comes bounding through the front door full of excitement and heads straight for Josie, colliding with her in a hug.

“Miss Josie! You’re at my house.”

Josie laughs, wrapping her arms around her, in no rush to let her go. “I am, sweetheart. And guess what? Your daddy madeyou your favorite.” Lucy’s eyes widen when she spots the stack of pancakes. “Chocolate chip.”

“This is the best day ever!” Lucy claps as she drops her backpack to the floor and slides into the kitchen chair next to Josie.
