Turning around mid-stride, my face balled up as I looked at him with confusion. “How you drive my shit? You don’t even have a key.”

“I stole it. I mean, I thought that was the type of timing we were on,” he said shrugging his shoulders. Because I took his car and kept it for so long, he went and got mine. I couldn’t even be mad at him. He reacted the way I expected him to.

“Where are my keys, Chrome?”

“I left them on your desk. Stop playing with me, Fade, before I do something to you.” That was all he gave me before he breezed pass me lightly bumping my shoulder. He was bringing every emotion out of me, and I knew then, he fucked my entire life up. I wasn’t going to be satisfied until I had him again.

I didn’t bother turning around until I heard the bell on the door sound off. All I could do was stand there with a soft smirk on my face. Somehow, someway, that man had me hooked to him like a fuckin’ drug and all it took was one night. He warned me and I still ignored the heed.

“KoKo, what the hell was that?” Daria asked.

“A nigga that won’t take no for an answer. I’ll be in my office if you need me.” I grabbed my food from my booth counter and retreated to my desk. My keys sat next to the picture of me and Mel with a note under it.

You look good today, baby. If you wasn’t acting so fuckin’ dumb, I would’ve sucked on that sweet ass pussy then beat that bitch down. Now look at you, missing out on good dick.

I tugged on my bottom lip as a pulse formed between my legs. I could deny not feeling him all I wanted but my body would call me a lie each and every single time. Houston’s infidelity had to be the best thing that happened to me. Without his fuck ups, I would’ve never run into Chrome or that bomb ass dick he slutted me out with. This was not how I envisioned my life in Eastlake, but I damn sure wasn’t complaining.

Chapter Nine

CHROME

Onyx came through for a nigga and I had to label her as a real one. I didn’t give a fuck that Fade had my whip. She was my woman at the end of the day, and if she needed it, then by all means, take it. However, I thought she would’ve come to her senses and phoned a nigga or something. There was no reason in hell it took her a fuckin’ month to sort through her lil’ feelings. We fucked, all night at that, and she loved every second of it. I didn’t see the fuckin’ hold up.

I was like a fuckin’ parrot telling her how she was mine and still… she felt the need to take her bald-headed ass on with daily life not saying a word to a nigga. I knew for a fact I didn’t scare her off because regardless of what the fuck I said, she came on my dick repeatedly. We both walked away a happy fuckin’ camper.

“Nigga, what the fuck did you do? Got my lil’ baby calling me talking ‘bout you cutting up at the shop,” Zinc asked as I stepped out my ride.

“Tell Onyx I ‘preciate the spare key and I’ll give it back after I get mine made.”

“You ain’t answering me muthafucka. What the hell you do to that girl?”

“Ain’t shit ‘bout that woman considered agirl. I promise you from her hair follicles to her toenails, that’s all woman… and mind yo’ business. I went to go see about mine. The fuck is it to you?”

“She called Onyx and gave her the details. You can’t be rolling up to sis establishment with all that. She ain’t like these hood rats that ain’t got shit. Making her business hot, ain’t it.”

“How the hell else was I supposed to get my car back, Zinc? Harli asked to borrow it for they beach trip and she had it. I don’t see the big deal.”

I walked pass him into the crib and then my room tossing the keys on the bed. It wasn’t like I didn’t know where my shit was and couldn’t go get it before today. I had a tracker on my shit for reasons like this. I allowed her to drive it at her leisure because I knew where she was and if need be, I could get to her. I watched her location like a hawk.

“So, what’s up with y’all? You locking that down?” He leaned against the doorframe with a smirk on his face. My boy was probably just happy to see me off Rini hoe ass and on something new.

“It’s locked. I’m just waiting on her to get with the program. What’s up with the party though? Everything straight for tomorrow? Them youngins graduate and shit.” I switched the subject for a reason.

Talking about Fade made a nigga heart smile, but it also pissed in my cereal at the same muthafuckin’ time. All that avoiding me just because you were in yo’ feelings didn’t work for me. She wasn’t the only person dealing with them bitches and if she would’ve talked to a nigga ‘bout where her head was at, I wouldn’t have had to show up at her shit and get her right.

“I went and picked up all the grills yesterday. Steel, Merc, and Platinum working them as usual. Neon, Goldie, and Copper handling the sides. Silvy, Mang, and Cobalt on drinks. Litty andLead grabbing the tables and tents from the church today. Oh, and the DJ coming to set up his shit first thing in the morning. We straight. All we need you to do is post the shit and we in there.”

I started clapping once he finished rattling off everything I needed to know. One thing I hated was shit falling through. I put too much on the line for them kids and I wanted them to understand the hood was proud. With all the shit muthafuckas went through, snagging a diploma meant something. We were already counted out so shutting a muthafucka up with the same thing they couldn’t obtain was a hell of a flex.

“Mmhm! That’s what the fuck I’m talking ‘bout. What about the shirts and gift cards? They came in yet?”

“That pack touched down this morning. Goldie was gon’ go through it tonight to make sure everybody name was spelled right and shit.”

“Cool, cool. Run back to what you just said a few minutes ago though. Yo’ lil’ baby… that’s sis?” I questioned with a smirk.

His smile stretched from ear to ear like a lil’ ass schoolboy. Last time I checked, he was on Copper heavy but now all of a sudden there was a switch up. I could only imagine what the hell they talked about at the club and what the hell happened after me and Fade left. I wouldn’t be surprised if bro went after Onyx just ‘cause I went after Fade.

Zinc wasn’t the relationship type so him claiming Onyx as his lil’ shit was wild. I could admit that Onyx was just as bad as Fade. However, sis was a chocolate beauty and smelled like pure money. I could tell she was spoiled rotten just from her upkeep. Her aura was just as confident as my woman’s. I knew it was only a matter of time before somebody in the crew went after her.
