“Come on, Katie. Should we go settle down in bed?” He took the little dog with him everywhere he went. She happily followed him toward his bedroom.

The next morning,he met up with Chase for breakfast before heading over to the designer tuxedo shop. “Hey, you ready to get married?” Owen teased as they went into the restaurant.

“What about you?” Chase shot back. “Are you ever going to tie the knot?”

“I have to have someone in mind first.”

“Always the bachelor.”

“Not that long ago, that was you,” Owen said.

Chase threw his hands out to the sides and smiled broadly. “You never know when it’s going to sneak up on you. But I’m sure glad it did. Lauren is everything I never realized I deserved.”

Owen clapped him on the back. “I’m happy for you.”

A server showed them to their table and handed them menus. They ordered some bacon and eggs, and the server left to put in their order.

Chase turned back to Owen. “You ready to help me pick out a snooty tuxedo for my snooty celebrity wedding?”

“You know, you could have just gone to the tuxedo shop in Maple Creek.”

“And disappoint all the magazines waiting to gush about what I’m wearing?”

“Not to mention your manager, who wants to keep up your image.”

“We both know that’s the real reason we flew back to LA,” Chase said.

“My agent’s the same way,” Owen said. “He’s always talking about how I come across to the public.”

“What does he think about your restaurant?” Chase asked. “I noticed you had some press coverage at your grand opening.”

“I saw that too. They took notice of you and Lauren there too.”

“Yep. That’s already appeared across the internet,” Chase said. “They’ve followed us closely since we got together.”

“How’s that been for you?” Owen asked.

“It’s been easier than I expected. It’s like Lauren was made for this life.”

“That’s outstanding. And it doesn’t surprise me at all. Lauren always was the queen bee in high school. She’s just stepping right back into the role.”

“Exactly.”

“I never would have put the two of you together, but now that you’re getting married, I can’t imagine you without each other.”

“Alexis was the one who saw it first.”

“Really?”

“Oh yeah. It was her idea to set us up on a blind date.”

“I didn’t realize that.”

“She can be pretty conniving when she wants to be.”

“I remember her being like that growing up,” Owen said. “Remember the time she convinced us to watch that cooking show with her instead of playing video games?”
