“It’s looking that way. There’s this guy I really like who insists it’s the only place he can live since he’s this famous movie star, and I’d really like to live closer to him.”

“What about your bakery in Maple Creek?” Owen asked.

“I’d keep it open. I have Delilah to help. Maybe I’ll hire a couple more employees to help her out. You’ll be coming back to Maple Creek anyway to see your family and to check in on Hadley’s, so I figure I could come back with you and check on the bakery.”

“That could actually work,” Owen said.

“With this new influx of work, I should have enough to pay for the tax bill I’m behind on. That will help get my business out of the red.”

“I have no doubt that you’ll be running a highly successful business in the future.”

“I’m starting to believe that too, and boy, does it feel good. It’s like I have this huge weight taken off my shoulders.”

“That’s what I like to hear.” He pulled her close to him and kissed the top of her head. “You look so beautiful tonight.”

“I’ve been checking you out all night. I can’t believe I’m dating such a hot guy. Do you know how long I’ve had a crush on you?”

Owen chuckled, a deep sound rumbling from his chest. “I believe you may have mentioned that.”

“Thank you for agreeing to open a bakery with me. It was really hard to ask you that.”

“I think it’ll be a good fit for us, and now I know the restaurant industry much better.”

“Yeah, it just feels right.”

Owen looked deeply into her eyes. “So much about being with you feels right. Thank you for seeing the real me instead of the image that I’ve created for Hollywood.”

“Thank you for being patient with me while I’ve been so stressed out about my bakery.”

“It’s only natural to be stressed out after all you went through. I’m just sorry that I caused any issues for you.”

“It’s in the past now. I’m just ready to move forward with this new stage in my life.”

“I want to share every minute of it with you.”

“Please do.”

“I love you, Alexis Remington.”

“I love you too, Owen Hadley.”
