“What are you writing in there?”

“Nothing that important,” she said. “I’m used to taking notes during an interview.”

“It makes me nervous.”

“Don’t be. It’s not a big deal.”

“It is to me. This is my career hanging on the line.”

“Next question,” Tessa said. “Do you have friends over a lot?”

“Not really. We mostly hang out at night clubs.”

“Do I want to know what kind of friends you mean?”

“You mean by lady friends? Those are a thing of the past. No more dating for me.”

“Question number three,” Tessa said. “Are you a homebody, or do you like to be out and about?”

“I’m a homebody. Bring on the pajamas and the Netflix with a big bowl of popcorn.”

“But you just said you like to hang out at night clubs.”

“Well, I used to. How else was I supposed to meet anyone? But it wasn’t my preferred way to relax and have fun. Unless you’re talking about outdoor adventures. Then I’m all over going out.”

“What kind of outdoor adventures?”

“Hiking, kayaking, swimming, camping, rock climbing, cave exploration.”

“I like all that stuff too.”

“You do?” Benson asked. “I thought you said you were afraid of heights.”

“Okay, so maybe I wouldn’t want to go rock climbing. But the rest is fine.”

“Nice.”

“See, I’m not as uptight as you thought I was.”

“I never said you were uptight.”

“Yes, you did. You called me uptight at the wedding.”

“Oh yeah. Sorry about that.”

Jet came out with their drinks and food and set it down in front of them. “Thanks, Jet,” Tessa said. “This all looks so great.”

Benson bit into his hamburger. “I forgot how good this place is. I haven’t been here in years. I usually just go to Dixie’s or Hadley’s.”

“I come here a lot. Especially for lunch. Ready for another question?” Tessa asked.

“Sure,” Benson said.

“What kind of stuff do you watch on Netflix?” Tessa asked.

“I watch all kinds of stuff. Whatever’s trending and catches my eye.”

“So you’re one of those guys who gets sucked into what everyone else is into at the time?”
