“It’s a good thing,” Sariah said. A slow smile crept over her face. “I have a great feeling about you two.”

“You do?” Tessa dropped her hand like this news had caught her off guard.

“Mm-hm. I wouldn’t be surprised if you had babies early on either.”

“Babies!” Tessa squeaked. “I don’t know about all that.”

“Mark my words. You’ll see.”

“I have a career I’m pursuing. A baby is the last thing on my mind.”

“I don’t think Benson would know what to do with a baby,” Tessa said.

“My sister has a baby,” Benson told her. “I’m an awesome uncle. The kid adores me.”

“How old is he? Two weeks?” Tessa teased.

“No,” Benson said in mock offense. “He’s two years. Old enough to know who his favorite uncle is.”

“I’m sure you’re awesome with him,” Sariah said.

“I think this is it,” Tessa said, looking at the princess cut ring. “This is the one.”

“It’s perfect,” Benson said.

“I think so too.”

“Awesome!” Sariah said. “Before I start filling out the paperwork, would you like to pick out a ring for Benson?”

“Oh yeah. We should do that now,” Tessa said.

Benson walked over to the case that held the men’s rings. “Let’s get one that matches yours.”

“What kind do you like?” Tessa asked him, linking her arm with his. She felt so natural, brushing her skin against his like that. Goosebumps rose on his arm, and he fought off a shudder. This girl was going to be the end of him.

“How about that simple white gold band?” he pointed to a ring.

Sariah pulled it out and handed it to him. “This one is a comfort fit.”

He put it on his hand. He’d gotten so close to wearing a ring before. It felt strange to be wearing one now.

“Is it comfortable?” Sariah asked.

“Yeah. It feels great.” His voice felt thick as he spoke. He hadn’t expected to get emotional. He took off the ring and handed it back to Sariah.

“Is there anything else you’d like to try on?”

“No. That one works just fine,” Benson said.

“I’d like to buy it for you,” Tessa said.

“Oh, Tessa, you don’t have to do that,” Benson said.

“I’d like to do my part. You’re already doing so much.”

“Are you sure?” he asked.

“Of course.” She turned to Sariah. “Make sure the bills are separate.”
