“No one can control what you do. Your choices are up to you,” Tessa said.

“That’s right. And I take full responsibility for what I did. I just feel bad that you got roped into all of this.”

“It’s not so bad.” Tessa looked out over the water. “I get to be here with you on this lovely boat. I’d say I’m the one who ended up lucking out.”

“Do you really feel that way?” Benson asked.

“I do.” Tessa reached over and took his hand.

“What a lovely couple!” one of the crew members said to them. “If it’s all right with you two, I’d like to get your photo. It’s included in your package.”

“That would be fantastic,” Benson said.

“Let’s have you both stand up and embrace.”

Benson stood and then helped Tessa up. She stood close to him and then looked up into his eyes. Her green eyes were full and serious. He wrapped his arms around her waist.

“Okay, lovely,” the photographer said. “Let’s have you get a little closer together.”

Benson pulled Tessa against him, feeling her warmth against his body.

“Beautiful.”

Tessa put her hand on his chest. It felt amazing to have her touching him like this.

The photographer snapped a few pictures. “Perfect. Now, kiss each other.”

Benson looked down at Tessa. He wasn’t expecting the photographer to ask them to kiss. But it wasn’t like he could refuse. He bent his head down, tasting her sweet lips. She rose to meet him, putting her arms around his neck. She pulled him closer toward him and he felt himself losing control. He wanted this woman. He knew it wasn’t fair to kiss her like this. He could be giving her the wrong message, but he couldn’t control it. He was tired of fighting against himself.

“That’s wonderful!” the photographer said.

Benson had almost forgotten he was there. His head spun from the kiss. He pulled away and looked into Tessa’s eyes. They shone up at him, and she smiled. “You’re really good at that,” she said quietly to him.

“Am I?” he murmured.

“Yes. I wouldn’t mind if you did it again sometime.”

“I’m sure we’ll be getting plenty of chances,” Benson said.

The photographer disappeared down into the boat. “I mean, you can do it when people aren’t around,” Tessa said when they were alone.
