“You’re more than worthy, Benson. You have my heart completely.”

“Thank you, Tessa. You have my heart too.”

She squeezed his hand, and his eyes met hers.

“I’ve always been kind of wild, but it was getting worse and worse.”

“To the point that you almost lost your career,” Tessa said.

“Thanks to you, it looks like my career is sticking around.”

“Have you talked to your coach about the picture of me crying at the restaurant in St. Lucia?”

“Yes. I told him that all was well between us.”

“And we’ll work hard every day to show him how true that is.”

Benson looked down at her, and the corners of his eyes crinkled. “I don’t think that will be hard at all. Because I’m madly in love with you, Tessa.”

“I can’t imagine my life without you.”

“To think we ever considered a divorce.”

“What were we thinking? You’re stuck with me forever.”

“Good. I’m not planning on going anywhere either.”

Tessa and Bensonsipped wine in their hot tub, overlooking the city lights. Tessa had successfully moved all her belongings into their new home. She’d integrated much of her décor with Benson’s, and it was beginning to feel like their lives had fully entwined.

Every day, Tessa felt closer to Benson. She’d fully moved into the master bedroom, and she had no intention of ever leaving. She’d even gotten Benson to agree to let her redecorate the room in more feminine colors. He didn’t seem to mind her changing things up. He just wanted her near him and fully in his life.

Tessa had never felt so happy in all her life. Her new job was going well, and she had the potential to move up within the company. The football season had started up again, and Benson’s coach had forgiven him. He’d even invited Tessa and Benson to come over for dinner and had seen them together in love firsthand. He was impressed with how much Benson had calmed down.

“Would you ever consider getting a dog?” Tessa asked.

“A dog?” he teased. “Are you saying you want to take our relationship to the next level?”

“I think I’m ready for something a bit more permanent. And who knows, maybe someday we can think about having a kid.”

Benson looked at her with surprise on his face. “You’d want to have kids?”

“I’m not in any rush. Let’s start with the dog first, and then we can see how we do as pet parents.”

“I like that idea.”

Tessa took a sip of her wine. “This is an incredible view.”

“I’m blessed to have it,” Benson said.

Gratitude swelled in Tessa’s heart as she looked around at all she had in her life now. This was the happily ever after she’d always dreamed of, but never thought she would find. Somehow, she’d discovered it with this amazing man. She could only imagine what was in store for them next.
