Page 81 of Her Knotty Alphas

"Alright, love-birds," Enzo murmurs in my ear, "let's finish this at home before we give everyone a show."

Nodding, I unloop my arms from Noah, but he keeps an arm around my waist and presses a kiss to my hair. I smile up at him,but then Cat's pissed-off voice snaps me out of my daze. "Ugh. Gag me. Get a room."

"We have one," Noah snaps.

Shooting him a look, I turn my attention to my step-sister. "So?" I ask, pulling away from my alpha. "You'll drop the case?"

She barks a laugh, and a chill runs up my spine. "Are you kidding? Not a chance."

"What the fuck, Cat?" Charlie snarls behind me. "They won."

"And the deal,Golden Boy," she sneers his nickname, setting my teeth on edge, "Was that emo-boy had to beat one of my alphas. Neither David nor Hanson are my alphas."

What theactualfuck?

"But…his last name is Frell." I don't know why I'm stuck on that.

"Yeah, he's my head alpha's brother." Cat rolls her eyes, like she can't believe I fell for it. "So, no deal."

"That's…" I shake my head. "You can't do that, you said—"

"What are you going to do, Hannah? Tell the judge you made a bet to determine the outcome of the case? Yeah, I don't think they'll do anything about that." Cackling, she disappears into the crowd, and all I can do is look after her, mouth agape.

"That bitch," I spit, turning to look at my pack. "I can't believe she did that. Especially when you know that if she had won, we would have kept our word."

"It's okay, princess," Noah says, surprisingly calm. "We'll kick their asses in court anyway."

The rest of the guys murmur their agreements, though I can tell they're all just as upset as I am. There's no way to hold her to it though, so all we can do is proceed with the case and hope everyone realizes the truth.

That my step-sisters are all lying, conniving bitches, and I'm through playing their games.

Chapter 34

Hannah

The ride home is…tense. Charlie doesn't seem surprised in the slightest that Cat backed out of our agreement, but Noah, Austin, and Enzo are simmering with anger.

I'm wedged between Charlie and Noah in the backseat of Enzo's SUV while Austin takes the front.

"How are you feeling?" I ask Noah quietly, snuggling into the arm that he has thrown around my shoulders. I don't like that I can already see bruises blooming on his cheek.

"Pretty mad at your step-sister," he deadpans, and I roll my eyes.

"I mean your injuries, Noah."

"Oh. Those are fine. I've had worse."

Well I don't likethatone bit.

"It's true," Austin turns his head to look at us, "I've patched him up from far worse than this. His alpha healin' will kick in while he sleeps, and he'll be right as rain in the morning."

Frowning, I look up at Noah. "I don't like that."

"Like what?" He arches a brow. "That I'll be healed by morning?"

"No," I pout, my bottom lip sticking out a little. "That you got hurt to begin with."

"I'd get myself in far worse shape for you, princess," he murmurs, leaning down and tilting my chin up to kiss me. He took a shower in the locker room after the match, so his hair is still wet, his piercings back in place. His t-shirt is soft in my fingers and I make a mental note to find a way to smuggle it into my nest after he's gotten his scent all over it.
