“Kevin, you know a queen has to be seen mingling with the commoners from time to time,” she sneered haughtily, resting her hands on her hips.

Kevin and Derrick laughed easily, but Derrick glanced between the two of them. There was chemistry there for sure, but something else was there too.

She shrugged and smiled sheepishly. “Actually, I was hoping to find you,” she hedged. “I might have blown every circuit in my office,” she admitted with a wince.

“Oh nooo,” Kevin groaned, a smile on his face.

“Nah uh,” Derrick chimed in, smile plastered on his face. It was weird watching his bro turn all googly-eyed when this chick was around. “See, this here is a smoke break. You’re interrupting a smoke break,” he messed with her. He had discovered soon after his arrival at Carmichael and Associates that Miss Carmichael gave as good as she got and liked to have a good time.

She raised an eyebrow at Derrick, not at all impressed. “Well, if you wanna put a nail in your coffin, you go right ahead,” she nodded. “But seeing as neither Kevin nor I smoke, we’ll just let you do that on your own,” she answered.

Derrick opened his mouth to reply, but he had nothing.

A wide grin broke across her face at his loss for words, and Kevin laughed. So, Derrick did what he always did to smart-asses: he flicked her the finger.

“Dude,” Kevin immediately hit him in the arm, but Kara laughed deeply, a rich and melodic sound. Derrick decided right then and there he needed to hear it again.

“Forgive me, ma’am,” Derrick smiled easily. “I didn’t mean to upset your delicate sensibilities,” he drawled, knowing damn well she was tougher than that.

Kara laughed and shook her head. “Please, I have none. Not anymore,” she shook her head again. “Not in this line of work.”

Kevin still shot Derrick a look as Kara turned back toward the main office building. “So, what did you plug in that overloaded the circuit?” Kevin asked as they walked across the parking lot from the electrical building to the main building.

Derrick followed behind them a couple paces so he could stare at her plump ass, juicy round globes that he just wanted to sink his teeth into. It swayed like a dangling fruit before him. He had to stifle a groan. The dress might have had too modest of a neckline for Derrick’s liking, but it hugged her body like a glove.

She was fucking beautiful, and Kevin clearly had something going with her, if the flirting was anything to go by.

“A pencil sharpener,” she sighed with an embarrassed smile. “I don’t even know why I was worried about it. It’s not like I use pencils that often.”

Kevin smiled, the conversation turned to something else, and Derrick tuned out. He was too busy checking out her ass, the way her hips swung, the flare as they widened before narrowing again at her trim waist. He couldn’t see her fucking tits from the back, but he’d love to see them without the fucking suit jackets she always wore.

Before long, they made it to the top floor of the mostly glass Carmichael building. They walked into Kara’s office, and Derrick saw the pencil sharpener in question, plugged into a lonely outlet on the wall opposite her desk.

It amazed Derrick how much fucking glass was in the building. The outer walls were mostly all glass, and all the inner hallways on the executive level were glass as well. Kara’s desk was on the left side of the room and faced out toward the glass of the hallway. To the right were couches and a couple chairs, a coffee table, end tables, and a rug. There were even lamps on the end tables to make the whole space look warm and inviting. Cozy.

Derrick eyed the office with curiosity while Kevin inspected the outlet and pulled a circuit tester from the pocket of his jeans. He unplugged the pencil sharpener and plugged in the circuit tool. “Alright. I gotta head to the breaker down the hall.”

“Thank you, Kevin. I really appreciate it. I’d have called Jamie first, but he left for the day,” Kara said.

“No worries. Jamie probably would have called me on this one anyway. The old wiring in this building is still in shambles,” Kevin answered with a smile.

“I have a meeting down on six, do you need me, or do you boys got this?” Kara asked with a smile, though Derrick could have sworn there was a mischievous spark in her eye as she looked at the two of them.

Derrick laughed softly and watched as his buddy seemed to stutter over his words, “Uh, yeah, we got this.”

He watched her walk away, laptop tucked under her arm, before he turned to his buddy. “Duuuuude,” he groaned.

Kevin shook his head and rolled his eyes. “Don’t.”

“Bro,” Derrick shook his head. “She set that one on a silver platter for you.”

Kevin shook his head and walked out of Kara’s office.

“How long has it been like that between you two?” Derrick asked as he followed his buddy down the opulent hallway.

“I don’t know man, a while. I’ve been here for years now. We run into each other a lot. She’s…fuck,” he swore, losing his cool. He ran a hand through his hair. “She’s outta my league man, but she’s fucking amazing.”

“She wants to ride thatRockstarcock all night,” Derrick murmured, well aware it was not the time or place for his bullshit, but he couldn’t let his buddy get away unscathed.
