“Alright, let’s get you across the hall to ultrasound, and we’ll set you up with Aeyla. She’ll show you a picture of your little peanut.” Rori smiled brightly.

They followed Rori across the hall and into the ultrasound room, where they found a young black woman with light skin and a mass of light brown curls pulled back from her face with a large headband. She had the largest and lightest blue eyes Kara had ever seen. She was a gorgeous woman, and she had a wide, toothy grin for Kara and her boys as they walked in.

“Alright Miss Aeyla, this is Kara and her harem of men.” Rori grinned and waved at the men.

Kara laughed while her guys rolled their eyes.

“A reverse harem! I love it!” Aeyla grinned. “Come on in and have a seat.” She motioned toward the medical chair in the center of the room next to a large computer monitor. “I’m Aeyla,” she introduced herself, pronouncing her name like Kayla but minus the K. “Mom, you take the chair here in the center. Daddies can fight over the other chair and stand behind you. You should all be able to see the monitor that way.”

Kara took her seat and laughed, instantly liking the girl.

Aeyla took a seat on a wheeled stool and rolled right up next to Kara and the machines. “Alright girlie, you are about eight weeks exactly, according to the date of your last period. So let’s take alook and see if the fetus size matches that and say hi to your little nugget,” Aeyla said in a smooth, almost singsongy way as she looked over Kara’s chart.

Kara smiled and immediately felt at ease.

“Alright, I’m gonna need you to lift up your shirt and we’ll take a look,” Aeyla directed.

Kara lifted her shirt enough to expose her belly.

“Alrighty, this should be warm.” Aeyla squirted gel from a bottle on Kara’s belly.

Kara nodded and then Aeyla got to work. She moved the ultrasound wand over her belly, pressing down as she watched the screen.

Instantly her boys moved in closer around her. Kevin slid into the chair next to her and laced their fingers together. She looked over at him with a smile; his eyes were glued to the screen.

Derrick pressed in against Kevin’s back. He leaned over the chair and Kevin’s shoulder and placed his hand on Kara’s shoulder. He gave her a gentle squeeze and left his hand there.

Johnny pressed against the back of the medical chair on Kara’s other side. He was squeezed next to the chair and the computer, his eyes never leaving the screen.

“Aah, here we go.” Aeyla grinned and stopped moving the wand. On the screen there was a small, round blob-looking thing. “That looks exactly like an eight-week fetus.” Aeyla grinned. “Congratulations parents!”

Hands squeezed her body as her guys held onto her. Tears welled in her eyes as she looked from her little blob of a baby on the screen to each of her men and saw the tears lining their eyes as well. This was really happening. They were happy and in love, and they were going to be parents.

Kara committed the moment to memory. She would never forget the looks on her men’s faces; it was one of the happiest moments of her life.

Friday night in theclubhouse usually meant a party. Usually Marcos would have a couple shots, sip a beer, and enjoy the chick sitting on his lap while surrounded by his brothers.

That was before things had gone to shit, before Buckley had divided their club and started a war with the fucking Ravager Knights.

Now, the party still raged, but it was more subdued. There was an uneasy air around the room. Brothers met the eyes of other brothers and wondered if they were still loyal to each other or to Buckley. Stone and Dagger were seated next to Marcos, nursing their beers. The only thing missing was a chick perched on Marcos’s knee, but in this climate…he was not in the mood.

“Have you talked to anyone?” Marcos asked Stone softly while looking around to see who was watching or listening.

“My dad and Bear are on the fence,” Stone admitted, shifting in the chair next to Marcos.

Marcos nodded slowly, rubbing his jaw. He could see that; they were from the older generation. They had prospected with Buckley back in the day. They would have to be convinced of a better way. Things would have to be lined up first before they would jump ship.

“Axel, Blaze, and Phoenix want to meet away from the clubhouse. I think they’ll be on board.” Nico nodded.

“Trick and Ransom are down. So is Nickle,” Marcos said.

“I’ll get my dad and Bear to come meet when we meet up with Axel, Blaze, and Phoenix,” Stone said.

“And Ace?” Nico asked.

“Ace is so far up Buckley’s ass,” Marcos growled. “Leave him out of it. Prospects too.”

Ace was another longtime member from the same generation as Bear, Jerry, and Buckley. He was a hothead on a good day and a downright psycho on a bad day. There was no telling what the asshole would do. He was a loose cannon.
