Page 18 of Marking Mia

“Lucky bastard,” Finn mutters under his breath, his eyes dark. “I wish that was my shirt I left for her. I’ve been watching her all day at the café.”

“Hmm, we’re so close to making her ours,” I whisper, my eyes never leaving Mia as she savors my scent.

My heart beats wildly, and I fight the urge to open the window and go to her. Our omega. Because that’s what she is.

If there were any doubts before, they are completely erased.

A moan escapes Mia’s lips as she nears the edge of ecstasy. I feel my erection pressing against the front of my jeans, and it takes everything in me not to come undone right here.

Sweat trickles down her neck and slides into the collar of her top. Her breasts heave against the thin fabric, her nipples hard with arousal.

I can tell she’s getting close to climaxing. Finn and I wait with bated breath, ready to experience this moment with her.

“Mia?” The door to the bedroom slams open, and Justin enters.

Mia immediately stops touching herself, her flushed face lighting up with surprise. She throws the shirt to the floor and closes her legs. At that moment, I realize... she is scared of him. Despite her attachment, there’s a part of her that fears his disapproval. And I hate it.

Disappointment and frustration boil over, and I stifle a growl. I had almost forgotten about this worthless man’sexistence.

“This guy is a total asshole,” Finn says, disgust etched on his face. “He couldn’t even let her finish.”

“Yeah, but unfortunately, she seems pretty attached to him,” I respond.

“I don’t know, man,” Finn says with a wicked smile. “If she’s so attached, why is she masturbating while smelling your shirt?”

The new house is perfect for our omega.

As soon as I learned of Mia’s existence, I began planning. It’s one thing to keep the omega safe, but I want to ensure she has everything she needs. Pack territory is too wild, and the townhouse is too small. We need somewhere new and neutral to bring her.

Everything must be perfect when she arrives.

This pack needs an omega. As our obsession with Mia grows, it becomes all too clear. That scent makes me eager to meet her.

I inhale deeply, as though I can smell the memory of her sweet, indulgent smell of honey. It has awakened something in all of us, bringing out our most primal instincts.

It isn’t just about protecting a lone omega. We need to claim her. Knowing she is in the arms of that lowlife is nothing short of appalling.

I know Finn and Jace want to act quickly, but this must be done thoughtfully. As their leader, it’s up to me to do this right.

She might not even know she’s an omega, and I don’t see how that’s possible.

Daylight streams through the living room windows. I can easily imagine Mia basking in its warmth as she reads a book on the couch, content and safe.

Safety will be important. I kneel at the window and check the locks. They’ll do for now, but I’ll likely have someone come in to make some security changes. If a rival pack discovers a nearby omega, we must be on guard.

Satisfied, I slip my hands into the pockets of my suit pants and take another lap around the house. There’s a bedroom for all of us and then some—a lavish, open kitchen with a marble island. Even the carpet is downright luxurious.

It will cost me a pretty penny, but it will be worth it. I stop at the doorway to the main bedroom. This room would be Mia’s, of course. I would spare no luxury for her.

It’s easy to imagine her here, getting ready in the morning, pushing back the blackout curtains to let in the sunlight. In this room, she could move around and express herself. Maybe she’d want bookshelves or a desk by the window.

I can see her blossoming here, truly coming into her own.
