My gaze travels to the four-poster bed, already situated between the two floor-to-ceiling windows. For convenience, I sought a place that was already furnished, and this stunning piece was a selling point.
Running my fingers along the mahogany of the bedpost, I imagine Mia lying in bed, wearing nothing but a flimsy tank top and silky panties. She has a book in her hands, but doesn’t seem all that interested in reading the pages.
When her eyes meet mine, the book falls from her hands. A mischievous smile tugs at her lips as she gestures for me to come closer, crooking one finger in my direction. I can see her nipples straining against her tank top, her arousal evident. Shehooks a thumb into the waistline of her panties and bites her lip, driving me wild.
I can’t help myself; I’m on her in seconds—rough hands against silky smooth skin. The tank top tears away from her body, and she moans, both turned on and excited. Her fingernails dig into the flesh of my back.
I imagine entering her swollen pussy, thrusting smoothly as she parts her legs. And God, she feels good. The way she clenches around me makes me gasp against her neck. It’s like she was made for me.
Now, I picture Jace entering the room, his eyes dark with lust. He crosses the room in two long strides, stripping away his clothes as he does so.
Jace takes Mia from behind, going gently at first, warming her up to the feeling. And Mia groans and writhes, adjusting to the sensation of being so filled up.
Together, we take her. The experience is almost spiritual. Her breathy moans against my neck as she shifts to accommodate us.
The sound of the front door opening interrupts my fantasy.
I tense for a moment before recognizing Finn and Jace’s scents. Within moments, they are standing in the doorway of the bedroom, gazing in.
Finn lets out a low whistle. “This place is nice. You have good taste, Kane. Mia will love it.”
“Anything for our omega,” I growl lowly, taking deep breaths to cool my hard-on.
“So, what’s the plan?” Jace interjects, impatient as always.
Crossing my arms over my chest, I lean one shoulder against the wall. “We have to be sure that she trusts us completely before the marking ritual. That is likely going to take some time, so I need you to be patient.”
Jace gives me a petulant look but says nothing. It’s Finn who speaks up.
“We need to take care of Justin,” says Finn. “His behavior towards Mia is disgusting, and we’re worried about her. His control over her is getting worse to the point where she’s scared to leave him.”
I know exactly what Finn means by dealing with the threat. He would see Justin removed in a heartbeat if I gave the word. I understand the urgency, but this situation is precarious.
“I want you to keep tabs on the situation,” I finally say. “Ensure her safety. That’s what we can do for now. If he ever raises another hand to her, he will be dealt with swiftly.”
“That doesn’t answer my question, though. How are we handling this?” Jace asks. “I think we need to deal with this directly. Approach her, talk to her. Allow her to get to know us.”
Finn seems hesitant. “I think approaching her randomly is likely to unsettle her or creep her out. We should be more cautious. I at least made my acquaintance with her and even hugged her.”
“What?!” I growl, feeling immediately left out of their connection.
“She was crying over Justin.”
“Fuck, that bastard,” I say, thinking about this awful boyfriend of hers. I want to kill him, eradicate him so we can have her for ourselves. “Don’t worry. I’ll think of something.”
“This will probably motivate you,” says Jace, pulling out his phone with a smirk and sending me something. “You might want to check it when we get back to pack territory.”
I decide to wait until we’re back in pack territory to open the message. Jace’s words float through my mind, and I wonder if it has something to do with Mia. Suddenly, my phone feels like it’s burning a hole in my breast pocket as we enter our forest house.
“Home sweet home,” says Jace, locking the front door as we all enter.
Pack territory is wild and forested but not completely uncivilized. Among the trees, wolf packs have erected several buildings.
Our home is farther away from the other wolf packs, as I value privacy, which is unusual among wolves. The place isn’t as lavish as the new house or even our townhouse, but it isn’t without its luxuries. I head towards my room, making my way to the leather armchair in the corner and easing into it.
Finally, I feel ready to look at whatever Jace sent. I’ve deduced that it has something to do with Mia.
And that’s enough to grab my interest.
