I know my face pales because I can feel it. That means their pack members can feel everything. I must make some sort of noise because Romano pulls me into his lap and starts purring. The sound makes the tension in my body relax. I burrow my face into his chest, rubbing my face back and forth.
“I know this is a lot, but we are trying to find who is behind the kidnappings. All we have so far is it’s someone named “M,” which is really not helpful at his point.” Kingston continues. “There is some terrible news I wish we didn’t have to tell you.”
“Just tell me.” My voice is soft but full of fear.
“They got Robert.”
Three words. Three simple words that had the power to destroy me. Robert and I had gotten close during the weeks after I fired Marline. I’d been out with him and his pack many times. He’s as important to me as Violet and Odette. And even if he weren’t, it wouldn’t matter. He is a fellow omega and doesn’t deserve this.
I gasp, trying to drag in the air. My lungs feel like they are on fire. “No, no, no, no.” I try to pull away from Romano, but he holds me tighter. I push into his chest, trying to get away from the pain. A warm body presses into my side as four purrs start-up in the room.
“Shhh, Princess. Calm.” Voss’ soft voice gets through the blood rushing in my ears. “We will find him and the other omegas. I vow it to you.”
The tears hit me then. Pouring down my cheeks as I gasped for breath. I don’t know how long I sat in Romano’s arms. Eventually, my tears slowed and stopped. I feel weak and lightheaded.
A thought crosses my mind, making me gasp and struggle from his grip. “I need to call Violet and Odette!”
Jace finally speaks up. “Don’t worry, Kitten. I’ve already sent someone to watch Violet and Henry was already helping Odette.”
I sag in relief. “What now? How can I help?”
They tell me that Robert's pack will be coming over. About Callie not functioning and what they want to do moving forward.
I can’t believe they got Robert. Sweet, kind, Robert. Anger starts to fill me. I can feel the rage filling every last inch of me. “I want their hearts ripped out of their chest. See if they like the way every omega and their packs feel. If you can’t give me that. I’ll fucking do it myself.”
I get surprised looks from the four of them.
“They fucked with the wrong omega.”

I don’t think I’ve ever been in love with a person. That includes my parents before they died. I hated them. Being in foster care was shit until Voss was placed in the same group home as me. We just clicked, and when Kingston showed up bringing Romano with him, the pack bond solidified. Now I’m with my brothers, sharing a woman we can’t help but fall in love with. I know it too soon, even by scent-matched mates' standards. Watching Fallon become enraged for her friend and all the other omegas taken is a thing of beauty. Watching her now as she wipes her friend's tears. The beta came back to life almost the instant she saw Fallon.
The alpha we met at Fluffed Up, Colby, John, and the rest of us stand back, giving them space, waiting for Fallon so we can begin planning. She tucks Callie up in the corner of the couch with a blanket wrapped around her. She kisses her forehead, whispering into her ear before she stands and makes her way to us. It’s not fair she looks so good in the jeans and sweater she’s wearing. Her blue hair pulled up into a messy bun. The expression on her face, however, would make a lesser man shit himself.
“What do we know?” her voice flat, and compared to what it usually is, I hate it. I want our sweet, slightly violent omega back. Her honeyed peach scent has taken on a sharp edge like it is on the verge of being too ripe. Once again, I wish she could smell our scents.
“I got as close as possible to the one taking the omegas. I wasn’t able to get close enough to grab one of them. The assholes are always in bigger packs. Listening to them talk, however. We know they have multiple locations, but they keep them. First, there is a warehouse, and then they take them to a house on the edge of town. Then, they move them to another location. Unfortunately, I don’t know the locations of any of these buildings. I did learn it’s a woman in charge. Her husband is, as well. I think he is complicit in what she is doing. All I keep getting is “M,” although I’m unsure if that is the man or woman. That part is unclear.”
I pull Fallon to me. Fitting her to my side. A soft, low purr settles her shoulders. I could see the rage and panic building in her. We need to keep a level head.
“Give me a location of where the men are.”
John gave me the location of several houses where I could find them. I look over at Colby and see the man practically vibrating out of his skin. “Colby. Come with me. Let's go make some friends.”
I look down at Fallon at the same time she looks up at me. I place a soft kiss against her lips.
“Be safe,” she whispers.
“There.” I gesture toward two men lounging against the front of a rundown house, its paint peeling and windows clouded with grime. The neighborhood is exactly what you’d expect—cracked sidewalks and the faint scent of garbage lingering in the air. They stand out like a damn spotlight, their expensive clothes too crisp, too clean, too out of place against the decay around them.
“One or both?” Colby grunts.
“Both, my friend.” It’s not even dark out, but I can tell you no soul will tell what happened. In this area, everyone minds their own business. “I got left, and you got right.”
