“I know the feeling,” Volis says, chuckling.
“Bite me, Volley,” I say.
“You really are a brat, Leli,” Volis says. “You always have been.”
“I’m feeling attacked again,” I laugh.
Shortly before dinner is ready to go on the table, Striker and Maple get to the house. “Hey,” I say as they come into the kitchen. “Meet the parents?”
“Yeah,” he says.
“They loved that he’s a witch,” Maple says as she sits beside me.
“Tell her the rest?” I ask Striker.
“I haven’t,” he says.
“Tell me the rest of what?” Maple asks.
“I am half incubus,” he says. “My mom was a witch and dad is an incubus.”
“Oh… I don’t know what that is,” she laughs.
“He’s a sex demon,” I say simply.
“Why are you like this?” Striker asks with a deadpan expression.
“Sounds interesting, but I’m still confused,” she says.
“We can talk in private, yeah?” he asks, cupping her cheek.
“Yeah,” she smiles up at him.
“Fuck, that’s adorable,” I say. “I know I make it my mission to annoy you, Striker, but I’m happy for you. Really.”
“Thank you, sis,” he says with a smile.
“Dinner is done,” Brenna says. Vash walks over to grab plates but stops when Brenna glares at him. “Go sit.”
“Can’t even set my own table,” Vash jokes as he comes over to sit on my other side.
“You thought you got rid of me,” Maple says to Vash with a grin.
“Believe it or not, Maple, I do like having you around,” Vash says as he wraps his arm around my waist and pulls me against him.
“Awe,” she says. “I’ll try not to be around too much, though. You have a full house as it is.”
“You are impossible,” Vash sighs.
“I’m going to guess you’ll end up with Striker in his room, so it’s not like you’re taking up any more room than he is,” I say.
“Leli,” Striker says with a sigh.
“What? She’s your mate,” I say. “Do we need to talk about what mating is, Bolt?” Maple giggles, and it makes me smile.
“You’re going to corrupt her into teasing me too,” Striker frowns.
“Lilith teases you too,” she asks.
