Zypher continues to stare at me for a few seconds longer before he finally submits and breaks eye contact. “If you don’t mind, it appears I have packing that needs to be done,” he says with a slight bow before turning and leaving us standing in the hallway.
“That was hot,” Kael chuckles.
“Ready?” I ask Leli.
“Very ready,” she says.
Callum grabs her bags before we leave the house. Once we get back to the sidewalk, Daemon stops me.
“I’m proud of you, Lilith,” he says. “You’re going to make an incredible queen.”
“Thank you,” I say with a sweet smile.
“Let’s go fire Morwen now,” Callum says happily.
We walk in silence back to the car to put Leli’s bags in the trunk. When we get to City Hall, Daemon types a code into a keypad next to security. When the door opens, he leads us up past the line of people waiting to get through the security checkpoint. Right away we are greeted by Morwen and his feigned happiness for seeing us. I make a point to stay next to Callum and not stand back. Leli stands beside me as well.
“Afternoon, gentleman,” Morwen says, ignoring Leli and me.
“Let’s talk in your office,” Daemon says, pointing for Morwen to walk. Morwen gives him a confused look before turning and walking toward his office.
It’s not until I step into the office that everything that happened just days ago in this office slams down on me. I stop abruptly and shake my head. Some part of myself is terrified that it’s going to happen again.
“Hey,” Kael says softly, and I look over at him. “We are right here. Okay?”
“Okay,” I say with a sigh. We step into the office, and Daemon slams the door shut behind himself.
“If we are talking about business, I have somewhere the maidens can wait,” Morwen says. I look at them to see what they want us to do.
“Lilith and Leli stay here,” Kael says.
“Okay,” he chuckles. “What can I do for you?”
“Get the girls back,” Daemon says through the mind link to Callum. I immediately grab Leli and back us up, and Callum pulls us back more.
Morwen makes eye contact with me. Suddenly, my mouth is dry, and my stomach feels like it’s going to turn inside out. I don’t have a chance to look away before Daemon grabs him by the back of the neck and slams him face down on his desk. Morwen is still looking at me as Daemon holds him down. Morwen goes to speak, and Daemon slams his face against the desk again.
“How many fox shifters have you raped in this office?” Daemon asks with venom in his tone.
“I didn’t give any of those whores anything they didn’t ask for,” he grunts.
“Even my mate? Did she ask to be held down and raped before you sent her to me on a train with no protection?”
“Your mate?” Morwen asks, glaring at me.
Instead of answering, Daemon abruptly shoves him over his desk. “Tell me again what happened, Lilith,” Daemon asks.
“Someone was harassing me outside of his office. He blamed me for it and dragged me in here. When he shut the door, he immediately bent me over and pushed my skirt up. He made a few comments before he started to rape me. He kept going harder and harder until he eventually pulled out of me and aggressively switched to anal in an attempt to hurt me. Then he pushed me to my knees and shoved himself down my throat when he finished,” I explain.
“She’s leaving out the part where that whore came for me,” Morwen laughs.
“Is that right?” Daemon smirks at him. “Come here, Lilith.”
“What are you doing?”I ask him through our mind link.
“I’m going to fuck you, little witch. Come here,” he replies.
“Daemon. The glow. He will see it.”
