Epilogue

Ipushed the button to bring in the slides on the RV so Danni and I could get going.

We had stayed an extra day in Saddleback, exploring the town and eating some of the best barbecue ever at Roadside 14. We even dance half the night at The Dusty Floor, which was a country bar with pretty decent music. I wasn’t a huge country fan, but when in Tennessee.

Danni had cancelled her rental car right after the wedding and checked out of the hotel that night. The two of us had been together ever since. She even spent the last day of the rally with me, but now it was time to head back.

“I put everything away in the back.” She walked toward me through the small space left in the condensed living room.

“Thanks, Giggles.” There wasn’t a lot, but we were storing some of the breakables on the bed so they would be safe.

She agreed to go outside and spot me so that I didn’t run into anything while I pulled out of the space we used for camping during the rally. I hadn’t thought about how much easier it would be with a second person when I bought this thing, but once more, I was glad she was here.

“I was thinking we could stop in Heartstone again and take in the amusement park.” I turned us toward the highway.

“I told you I don’t like rollercoasters.” She fastened her seatbelt.

“And I told you I’m sure they have other things.” I reminded her. “Like, there is a water park.”

“I didn’t bring a swimsuit.”

For a second, I had the best vision of her naked and covered in water, but I shook it off. If I went down that road, I’d stop the RV and drag her in the back, and we’d never get going.

“We can stop and get you one.” I’d have to get trunks myself.

“I guess.”

“We can also maybe stop for a little longer in Rustic Junction and take in the western vibe or go gambling in Foxfire Valley.” I suggested.

Danni leaned her head back against the headrest and looked over at me.

“We do have to eventually get home.”

“If you say so.” I smirked.

“Don’t start that again.” She shook her head. I couldn’t help laughing.

“I know we have to get home, but I want to have you all to myself for a while.” I picked up her hand and held it to my lips. She had to lean toward me slightly and I loved how easily she did.

“Alright.”

“Yeah?” My smile grew.

“Yeah.” She agreed. “We should probably stop at the winery again, too. Just to cause.”

I laughed. “Are you ever going to get over that?”

“I’m over it.” She smiled.

“Good. Cause I’m all yours, baby.” I kissed the back of her hand and let it go to turn onto the highway.

“I love you.” She smiled over at me.

“I love you.” There was no fear when I said it. Only the enthusiasm for what was to come.

“I have another idea of something we could do on our way back.” I glanced at her.
