It almost felt like he was still inside me.“Aaahhhhhhh…” A soft moan slipped from my lips, and I smiled. No pleasure comes without great pain.
“What are you doing?”
His voice boomed in the silent chamber, startling me, and I turned to see him walking toward me, now wearing fresh black lowers.
“I need my nightgown,” I said softly. He smiled and retrieved it from the couch. Walking back to me, he handed it over and sat down on the bed.
I slid my arms into the nightgown and tied it gently around myself, sinking back onto the bed.
He pulled me close the moment I sat, guiding me down to lie beside him. He buried his face in my neck, and I felt myself slipping into sleep without resistance.
“I love you,” he murmured huskily, and I drifted off.

Hardly any time had passed since we’d fallen asleep when a loud knock on the door startled me awake.
I blinked slowly, my eyelashes fluttering as I stirred. My hand reached out to gently pat his shoulder.“Rudra,” I whispered softly.
“Bhaisa,” came a familiar voice from the other side of the door. Ranvijay.
My brows drew together.
“Rudra, wake up… Ranvijay is here,” He stirred, his lashes lifting as he looked at me. Inhaling a deep breath, he blinked again, more alert now.
“Bhaisa,” Ranvijay called again, a hint of alarm in his voice.
He sat up straight.“Ranvijay,” he murmured, stepping out of bed.
Walking to the door, he opened it, and I could hear the muffled sound of their voices.
“It’s an emergency, Bhaisa,” Ranvijay said urgently.
“What is it?” Rudra asked.
Ranvijay replied in a quiet voice, too low for me to hear.
Then Rudra turned and came back to me. Leaning down, hepressed a warm kiss to my forehead.“I’ll be back in some time,” he whispered.
He reached for his kurta from the couch, pulled it on, and walked out, closing the door softly behind him.
I sat there in the stillness, glancing around. It was still earlyin the morning.

? Rudra ?
Ifollowed Ranvijay into the meeting hall, where a group of officials stood waiting. Their worried, helpless expressions told me everything. Fear hung heavy in the room.
“Ranaji,” One of them stepped forward, his voice trembling.“Everything is finished now, Ranaji.”
I looked at his eyes, glistening with tears. With a heavy heart, I walked closer.
“Calm down,” I tried to soothe him. My eyes shifted to Ranvijay and Agastya.“What is the situation now?” I asked.
Ranvijay met my gaze.“They’ve crossed the borders,”
I nodded gravely, then turned to Agastya.“We don’t have the resources for a war, do we?”
