I smiled, cupping his jaw and kissing his cheek.“And I love you so much,” I whispered, looking into his eyes.
“By the way, I have to ask you something,” I said shyly, feeling a blush creep over my cheeks as I lowered my gaze.
“Yes?” he asked curiously.
I fidgeted with my fingers.“Before our marriage... how did you imagine our first time would be?”
He suddenly burst into hearty laughter, and I immediately felt embarrassed.
“You can't laugh like that!” I whined, trying to get up. But he tightened his arms around me, still laughing, and hugged me closer.
“Stop!” I said, half-laughing myself.
Eventually, his laughter died down, and he looked at me, his eyes warm and teasing.“You really want to know?”
I nodded eagerly.
“Please,” I said softly,“I want to do something special for you after your crowning ceremony.”
?? ? ? ?
? Rudra ?
Ismiled, looking at her glowing face.“You are already special to me, Nandani,” I tried to say.
She immediately rolled her eyes.“Irrelevant answer,” she said, and I chuckled, scratching the back of my neck. Honestly, I didn’t know how to answer her. I had never imagined her in that way before our marriage. Never had I thought we would come this far.
“Leave it,” she said with a sigh.“I'll figure it out myself,”
I smiled at her just as a voice interrupted us.“Ranaji,” An attendant called from outside.
I turned towards the door.“Ji?” I asked, smiling at her.
“Badi Maasa is asking you to hurry for the ceremony,” she informed respectfully.
I nodded.“Okay, we're coming,” I said, and she left.
Turning back, I saw Nandani hurriedly putting on her jewellery, her fingers moving quickly, slightly fumbling. Watching her like that, so real, so close, made my heart thud harder. I couldn’t believe how far we had come. Marriage, love, this moment... none of it had ever seemed possible.
“Rudra,” she called, and hearing my name on her lips made a wide smile break across my face. Oofff, how beautiful she sounded.
“Hnn-hnn,” I hummed, just staring at her, lost.
She turned to look at me, a loose strand of hair falling across her cheek. My heart tightened instantly. How dare even a strand of hair touch her so boldly? She was flawless. She was everything.
“Can you help me change my anklets? They're heavy and I can't bend forward,” she said without looking at me.
“Of course,” the words slipped out before I could think.
I stood up and gently pushed her to sit down. She held theanklets in her hands, and I knelt before her. Carefully, I lifted her feet onto my knees.
“You’re wearing white. It’ll get stained,” she warned, glancing at me.“I just put Mahavar46,”
I smiled mischievously and, instead of pulling back, grabbed the arms of her chair and dragged her even closer. She frowned in confusion as I pressed her feet against my chest, staining my kurta with the bright red imprint of her mahavar.
“Are you mad?!” she gasped, pulling her feet away quickly.
I chuckled, still staring at the red marks on my chest.“With my heart already stained by you, what else do I need?”
