Page 37 of Skating to Him

Sorry, but I’m not available for hookups any more. I’ve found someone I like.

I stuck the phone in his face. “How’s that?” Yes, we were new, but fuck if I was going to let him go to the gay bar and do whatever they did in those restrooms.

His gaze softened and a grin teased his lips.

The phone buzzed in my hand.

His grin fell. “You pissed her off now.” He turned the phone toward me.

Sylvia

What the hell? I thought we were going to start dating? You’re dating someone else?

“Shit.”I glanced at Tyler, frowning at me. Maybe I had been a player. But I wasn’t playing him. “Let me take care of this.” I had to say something empathetic so I didn’t look like a dick but also definitive and clear. I typed a message back.

Rowan

Things have changed and I’m sorry it didn’t work out between us. Yes, I’m dating someone else. I wish you well.

I hit send. Okay, maybe the last bit was kind of cliché. I held my phone out to Tyler. “There, it’s done. While we’re together, I won’t be hooking up or dating anyone else.” I gauged his reaction. Would he say the same?

“Okay.” He lifted his chin. “I guess I’ll stop using my hookup app.”

“You have a hookup app?” I dropped my mouth open. Of course, he did. Most guys did, as far as I knew.

“Don’t you?” He dropped his forearms on the table.

“I have a dating app but haven’t been on it in a long time. I prefer the old-fashioned way of hooking up. Meeting a person in a bar.” I raised the edge of my lips. What about the gay bar for him? “If you and Myles go to the gay bar?—”

“Don’t worry. I’ll behave.” He smirked at me. “Or we can go together.”

“If we go together, won’t Myles and Ace find out about us?” I twisted my lips. It would be damn near impossible to hide my feelings for him in that environment.

“Let’s play it by ear. Right now, we have no plans on going to The Club.” He stood and held out his hand. “Come on, let’s move to the couch.”

Grabbing his hand, I rose. What the hell just happened? Had we decided to be exclusive, but only while we were fooling around?

A knock sounded on my door.

“Shit, pizza.” I’d almost forgotten about it. I opened the door and picked up the pizza box from the entry. “Go sit down, and I’ll bring it over. You want a beer or Gatorade?”

“I think I need a beer for our next conversation.” He snickered.

With a shake of my head, I said, “Good plan.” I set the pizza box on the table, strolled into my kitchen, and grabbed two beers from the refrigerator, a few paper towels, and plates. After making my way to the couch, I set everything down and dropped in next to Tyler.

He moved a pizza slice to a plate, handed it to me, and sucked his index finger into his mouth, licking off grease. “Mmm, good.”

“Yeah?” As my attention drew to his thick lips surrounding his finger, my cock tingled. What would it be like to get a blowjob from him? I was already wanting more. I snicked my can open and sipped my beer.

He slid a slice onto his plate and held it up to his mouth, taking a bite, and then moaned. “Goddamn, pizza is the best, isn’t it?”

“Uh-huh.” I watched his tongue fling out and lap some cheese sticking to his chin. Holy hell, I couldn’t think about anything but sex with him. Were my feelings all lust-based? Like his body was a new toy I couldn’t put down?

“What?” He stopped chewing and swallowed, his brows wrinkling. “Why are you looking at me like that instead of eating your pizza?”

I blinked. “I-I don’t know. Must have been zoning out.” I sipped more beer and then took a bite of my pizza.
