Adam is the first to greet her when he takes his hand from my waist to shake Beth's.Rage redirected. He quickly pulls me back to his side before telling Beth, "Beth, this is the love of my life, Eve.I'd like to find her dream home today."Rage is now transformed to...mush.Adam kisses my hair and motions toward Beth with a jerk of his head, reminding me to shake her extended hand.Oh, that's right. This is real life.I have to respond to the other characters in this story.I forgot for a moment when it seemed like I had fallen down the well into a fairytale.

"Hi, Beth. It's really nice to meet you.No pressure on the dream home thing. We may not be here long term, so there's still time for that."Good job to me for speaking more words to a perfect stranger than I can remember ever speaking before.

"Wonderful. It's lovely to meet both of you.May I just say that you're a stunning couple?I mean WOW, really.Individually, you're each quite extraordinary, but together...pure perfection."Every word from her mouth is flattering and beautiful. She has an English accent that does nothing to detract from her appeal.

"Thank you.I've certainly chosen well for myself."Adam tells her as he moves my body to his front and presses my ass into his half hard cock.Is he ever not hard?"Not when you're around, love."He whispers responding to my inner monologue as though he is privy to my thoughts.

"Well, let's get to it, shall we?We have some splendid properties to see today but, the schedule will be tight if we want to get to all of them."

Beth ushers us out the door and shows us to her car.Adam opens the back door for me and climbs in beside me.

"I didn't realize we weren't planning to stay in Austin."

A nervous chuckle escapes my lips.

"You don't even know where you'll be playing next year.I can try to transfer, but ultimately, who knows if we will even be in the same city."

Adam lets out an exasperated sigh.

"I'm not going anywhere.I won't be joining the draft, and you have no reason to continue college.I already have a job at Davenport Financial Group, and you want to be a mom.Try not to piss me off today, Eve.I'm in a good mood and I want to keep it that way."

"What do you mean you're not going to join the draft? You're two-time Heisman trophy-winning quarterback Adam Davenport. You'll be a first-round draft pick."I say this like the line has been rehearsed because it seems to be the way that everyone else relates to him.

The corner of his mouth turns up as he looks at me.

"I wasn't aware that you're such a fan.I like it.Say more."

I shake my head to signal that my annoyance has reached its limit.

"I do have access to Google.Everyone is talking about where you'll end up.Since when are you not playing professionally?"

"Since always.I never intended to play after college.I enjoy playing football.I enjoy playing with Cal and Cotton.I have no interest in playing at the next level. It's not what I want to do with my life."

My eyes crinkle in the corners as I scrutinize his beautiful face.

"It has nothing to do with me...right?"

"Everything I do, I do with you in mind. This particular decision was made before I met you, but I believe that Davenport Financial Group is what's best for us and for our children. If they want a place in the family business, they'll have it.I won't be traveling to away games, and our lives won't be plastered on social media and gossip columns.I have no interest in playing professional football for many reasons. You and our children are a few of those reasons."

Deep breath.DO NOT pass out.He says shit like this all the time, heart. You're going to have to man up.He speaks like we already have these children, like our lives together are a forgone conclusion. He has no doubt about us.No doubt about our children. No doubt about our future.I scoot closer to him in the seat and put my hand on his thigh. He covers my hand with his and we sit in silence for the rest of the drive.

We view the first four homes and they're all beautiful and elegant. The first one doesn't have enough bedrooms. The second is too elegant, if that makes any sense.I just couldn't see us raising children in it.The third house is too crowded by the houses on the opposite sides of it.Adam hates the proximity.

"I don't want the old guy next door hearing me fuck my wife when I get home from work."

We didn't even look inside of that one.We pulled up and he said that from the backseat of the car.The fourth home is incredible. It's 2 miles from a great school, has a large pool, plenty of bedrooms, and a beautiful chef's kitchen.Something about it just doesn't feel like home.It isn't until we walk into the fifth property that I can finally put my finger on what was wrong with the fourth house. It wasn't this house. There's so much focus on the back yard of this home. There's an incredible outdoor kitchen, a beautiful pool, and even a 3-room treehouse.

Inside, there's a large kitchen built with a big family in mind. The den has gigantic picture windows and an enormous open fireplace that doubles to the outdoor seating area.I love this home, but I know that it's out of my price range.Like way out of my price range.I have a couple of sponsorship deals, but I don't do promotions, so the sponsorships are moderate. All of my contracts are just for me to be seen playing in their gear. There certainly aren't millions of dollars in my account and this house is probably a couple of those.

Adam can sense my inner turmoil. He asks Beth if we can look around on our own as we enter a large recreation room.

"You know what we could put in here?"I ask with a huge smile on my face.

"A sex swing over there.A canopy bed strong enough to suspend a person from the top right over there.A rack of-"

I cut him off before things get any weirder.

"A trampoline. We could put a trampoline in here."
