“Wake up, kitten,” a soft voice says at the same moment that naughty finger dips inside me.

I press my face into my pillow as the veil of sleep finally lifts, only to realize that the thing I’m smushing my face into isn’t my pillow. It’s Killian’s chest.

“Morning, sunshine,” he repeats and dips his finger inside me again. He’s only going deep enough to breach me, but that shallow touch is enough to set my entire body on fire.

I squirm against him and whimper.

He huffs out a soft laugh and cups my ass.

“Are you going to class today?” he asks like he didn’t just have his finger inside me.

“I wasn’t planning on it,” I say, still trying to make sense of what’s happening.

Killian and I might sleep together, but we don’t dothis.

Every morning since that first night we shared a bed, I’ve woken up as Killian is untangling himself from me to slip from under the covers. We don’t talk, don’t acknowledge each other, and he definitely doesn’t touch me like he just did.

Lying in bed together like this is weird, but I don’t hate it.

We stay like that for a few more beats, then Killian sighs and pulls away.

I roll out of his arms and watch as he sits up and swings his legs over the side of my bed. Not caring that I’m being obvious, I trace my gaze over his strong back and broad shoulders. Killian is in incredible shape, and the dips and curves of his muscles are as fascinating as they are hot.

He glances over his shoulder. “Like what you see?” he asks with a smirk.

“I think it’s pretty obvious that I do.”

Something I can’t read flashes in his eyes, but it’s gone a moment later. “There’s been a change of plans,” he says as he stands.

“What do you mean?” I sit up and rub the back of my neck.

“There was an incident at the main house last night.” He lifts his arms over his head and stretches out his back.

The move makes the front of his boxer briefs ride down until a tiny bit of hair peeks out over the waistband, showing off his tight stomach and the noticeable V of his Adonis belt.

“Eyes up here, kitten.” He drops his arms.

I snap my gaze up but relax when I see Killian smirking at me.

“An incident?” I ask when he doesn’t say anything.

“Yeah. The house is off limits to everyone who doesn’t need to be there until after the break.”

“Oh, that’s…unfortunate.” I pause. “What about the Rapture?”

Was it canceled? That would explain why Eden is going home today and not tomorrow.

“It’s been relocated.”

“To where?”

“Here.”

I blink at him. “Here, like here in the dorm?”

He nods.

“Oh.”
