“Did ye enjoy yourself?” Finn asked as we stepped out into the cold night air.

“I did,” I said, surprising myself. When had that last happened? “I had a lot of fun. They’re all so welcoming.”

“Welcoming and inappropriate,” Finn grumbled. “But you handled it all marvellously. Not that I expected anything else.”

“You have too much faith in me.”

“Or maybe you don’t have enough in yourself.”

We’d arrived at my car, but I didn’t want to leave yet. I reclined against the car door and grinned. “I’d argue with you, but I saw how protective the others are. I don’t want them barging out here to add their two pence worth.”

He bracketed me in, bracing his hands on the car on either side of my head. “They are very interfering. It’s why I didn’t invite ye to stay in the clan house tonight. Just in case ye were wondering.”

“I wasn’t,” I lied. My face flushed, giving me away. From the smirk Finn wore, he knew it too.

“I do have a cottage here.” He lifted a hand from the car to trail a finger down my neck. “It’s far enough out that none of them would be able to hear a sound. Fresh sheets and everything.”

I shivered under his touch. “Someone else might judge you for assuming you’re going to get lucky.”

“Are you ‘someone else’?”

“Fuck no.” Feeling brave, I grabbed Finn’s waist and pulled him into me. Hard enough for him to feel the bulge in my jeans. “I’m the lucky one who’s thrilled you assumed.”

Finn’s eyelids lowered as his mouth hovered over mine, but before he could kiss me, a catcall came from the house behind us.

“Move over, Finn.” Logan’s voice rang out. “You’re blocking the view.”

He dropped his head to my shoulder with a groan. “Please don’t leave because of Logan. I’ll go punch him if you like.”

I located Logan on the second storey. He was dangling half out of the window, and was that a bowl of popcorn in his hands?

“Bit late for that,” I said, laughter bubbling up as someone roughly hauled him back indoors. I glimpsed a furious Calan before the two disappeared from sight. “Your brother had your back.”

“Remind me to buy him flowers,” Finn said. His lips were slowly making their way up my neck, my pulse ticking higher with each movement. “Now, are ye staying?”

My head fell back to give him more access. “Yes. Nothing’s going to scare me off tonight.”

Finn raised his head and kissed my lips sweetly. “I’ll take it.”

It took me a while to realise why he’d said that.

It was because I’d saidtonight.Without even meaning to, I’d subtly reminded Finn that I needed time.

And he’d subtly reminded me that he was willing to wait.

Finn said his cabin was only a few minutes away, but it took us far longer to get there. It didn’t help that we kept stopping to kiss. For Finn to gently cradle me as hedid sinful things with his lips. For me to shove him roughly against a tree trunk as I demanded more from him.

By the time the small house appeared through the trees, our clothes were completely askew. My shirt was missing several buttons and Finn’s jeans were undone. I had no idea where his belt had gone. I’d whipped it off a while ago to get my hands on his cock.

I tried to feel bad about it, but the hunger in Finn’s gaze stopped me. If we hadn’t been surrounded by people with supernatural senses, I suspected we wouldn’t have made it as far as his house.

He threw the door open, nodding for me to go in. I tried to cool the rampant desire running through me so as not to be impolite. “This is a lovely space. Did you decorate it yourself?”

Finn pressed his front to my back, his erection like steel against my arse. His hand rested on my chest, his words hot in my ear. “Do you want to discuss my decorating choices? Or would ye rather go upstairs and see how many times I can make you scream my name?”

I groaned. Finn was right, what the fuck was I worrying about? We both knew why I was here and what was about to happen.

Well, at least what Ihopedwas about to happen. I’d had an extra thorough shower when we stopped at my place earlier. Just in case.
