“I don’t think you make them like you, Daisy. I think it just happens.” She had this forlorn glaze to her eyes.
“Okay,” I exhaled. “Spill. What happened when you disappeared with Ben?”
She grabbed the remote and paused the movie before staring down at the near-empty bowl between the two of us. “So we ended up in one of the spare rooms. Of course. . .” She sighed. “On this crazy, extravagant bed with a canopy. It was really romantic.” Her eyes met mine, and she kind of just shrugged her shoulder.
“And?” I rolled my hand through the air like a director, telling the crew to keep rolling even though the scene was going down the toilet because nothing about hooking up at a party was romantic.
“So. Okay. Don’t tell anyone.”
“Who am I gonna tell?”
“I don’t know. Hailey or Morgan?”
I glared at her.
“Fine. So anyway, we were making out and fooling around, and I went to. . .” Tilting her head a little, she made a fist then bobbed her head up and down. “You know.”
“Oh. Gross. You sucked his dick, Daisy? You put Virgin Collector Ben’s genitals in your mouth?”
“Yeah, and I guess I drank too much because halfway through I had to get up and run to the toilet to vomit.”
“You didn’t?”
She covered her face with her hands while nodding.
“Wow.” I laughed so hard I fell over on the bed, spilling what was left of the Crunch and Munch. “Just. Wow. So, he may have been ignoring you this morning because he made you throw up. Ah-mazing!”
“It’s not. Really it’s not.” She grabbed a pillow from my bed and threw it at me. “I’m never gonna live that down.”
“Oh, surely he’s not gonna go around telling people you threw up from sucking him off.”
“He’s a guy, Sunny. He would totally go around bragging about that.” She puffed her chest out, curling her arms inward and flexing her lack of muscles while she made a menacing glare. “Yeah, dude. I’m so hung that I made the preacher’s daughter gag.”
My eyes went wide. “Oh, shit.”
Ben would most certainly do something like that. Without a doubt.
“Anyway, I totally blew any chances with him.”
I blinked a few times before snatching the pillow from her grip and whacking her in the face with it. “Are you kidding? You’re worried that you blew it with him?”
“It’sBen Jones, Sunny!” The emphasis she placed on his name made it sound like he was some incredible guy. Not a pervy jock with a jacked-up pickup.
There was no showing her the proverbial light on the matter of Ben Jones. I patted her back and nodded like I finally understood. “Okay. Okay. I get it, but it’ll blow over. He’ll ask you out again.”
“So how was your kiss with Brandon?”
I chewed at my lip, my stomach knotting while I thought about how that night ended with me over the balcony railing.
“Hello?” She waved her hands around in a tizzy. “Was it great or what?”
“We didn’t kiss.
Her face scrunched. “Huh? Not even a goodnight peck? That’s lame.”
“He didn’t exactly take me home.” I paused. Daisy glared. “Elias did.”
“Oh.” She crawled onto her knees. “My.” Then grabbed my shoulders and moved in close to my face. “God. He was there? And he took you home instead of the guy you were on a date with?” She clutched her chest. “Super scandalous.”
