His smile broadened. “Because you’re you. I love your sassy mouth and the way you think about others. I love how you wear your heart on your sleeve and your obsession with IKEA. You’re so smart and so tough but somehow you got through life without being jaded and bitter. Everything about you just works for me. I was miserable without you and now I feel stupidly happy.”
I swallowed, wanting this feeling of pure fucking joy to never end. “I promise I won’t bring up marriage and babies in six months and ruin everything.”
“You can, but maybe you should get through school before we have a kid.”
I blinked a slow blink. “What?”
His arms squeezed me tighter. “Whenever you’re ready, I’m ready.”
“To have a baby?” I squeaked.
“Does that freak you out?”
I tried to imagine having Ryan’s baby. A vision of him carrying a diaper bag and a baby car seat crossed my mind. “Yes.”
He laughed and kissed me. “I somehow became the chick in this relationship.”
“You want a baby?”
“I want you.”
“With a baby.”
“With or without a baby, but you’re it for me.”
My heart swelled so big, I thought it would come out of my chest.Never in my life had I ever imagined I would find this level of happiness.
“Ryan?”
“Yeah?”
“I’m glad I took Accounting in grade 10.”
He laughed and kissed me hard on the lips. “Me too.”
EPILOGUE
6 monthslater
I stoodin the cafe doorway and looked for her. She was at our same table, her blond head bent over her kindle. My heart kicked back in my chest at the sight of her. I approached her from behind.
I bent down and nuzzled her neck. “Want to get kinky? I hear they have clean washrooms here.”
She giggled and arched her neck. “How kinky?”
“Scream worthy kinky.”
“Yes.”
My cock hardened at the thought. With reluctance, I moved to sit kitty-corner to her. We studied each other. “Whatcha reading?”
“A book calledCapitalism and Freedom.”
“Is that for class?”
Her smiled widened. “For fun.”
“Economics isn’t fun.”
