Morgan: Elias, I-

DJ Two Tymes: What?

His words are sharp and bitter.

Morgan’s eyes water.

Morgan: I was upset. For as long as it’s been me and you, it’s been me and you. This runnin’ off to LO changes it all for us.

DJ Two Tymes: It changes it all for you. Not me. You got mommy and daddy to run back to if some shit falls through. AllI got is me, Mo. You either getting on board with me or you’re moving out of the way.

Morgan’s eyes drop. Tears spill. She doesn’t want to lose him.

Morgan: I don’t want that, E. I want us.

DJ Two Tymes: you ain’t fuckin’ actin’ like it

Morgan swipes the tears from her face.

Passing by is a group of giggling women. They’re strippers.

Stripper 1: Heyyyy Deuce

DJ Two Tymes flexes his jaw. He offers them a half nod and focuses on Morgan fully.

Morgan: It’s not that I’ve never supported you. I have. But you’re wrong. It changes it all for us. The lights, the women, the access to whatever, whenever. Where does that leave me? Don’t mistake what I’m saying, I’m proud of you. But I'm scared. And if you leave without me, then what?

DJ Two Tymes: I'm not trying to leave without you, Mo. That’s what I’m telling you and you ain’t hearin’ me. Baby, it’s been us. You been doing all the shit, you think I like that? My woman going to work, falling out with her family for me? Fuck no. This is my time to step up and be the man you need. The nigga you deserve.

Morgan looks up at DJ Two Tymes. She’s taking heed to his words.

DJ Two Tymes: I won’t stay here because you scared of some shit that won’t happen. That I won’t let happen. Fear can’t rule our shit no more. So, what we doing?

Morgan shrugs.

Morgan: I-

DJ Two Tymes huffs in annoyance and stands up straight. He removes his hands from his pocket. He offers Morgan one last glance before adjusting his book bag.

DJ Two Tymes: you can stay in Trae Way but I’m getting the fuck out

Camera pans out into bird’s eye view.

Morgan is left in the parking lot.

She walks away as the lot begins to fill.

Scene.

“That was dramatic as hell,”Maximus chuckled as he sat back. “You good at this.”

Eden shrugged humbly. “When you have to do commercials or ads for brands, you just embody what they need. You tapped in good, though.”

“All this shit is out of my element. I thought I was going to come home, rap, and fight for my place. I feel like I’m in like a vortex.”

“Considering you’ve been away for what? Four years?”

He nodded his response.
