I tilt my head and glare at him. “Earth? As if there’s anywhere else after the fae fucking abandoned us to that realm. My parents were taken three years ago, shifters all over the world are just ‘poof’ disappearing. They almost got Mac… Oh god, it really is all connected.” I cover my mouth and shake my head. “Is he here? Can I see him? What happened to Margaret?”

He brushes his fingers through his auburn hair and his bright green eyes darken. “We obviously have a lot to go over…” He sits down on the white marble floors and spreads his long, lean legs out in front of him. He’s also wearing a strange outfit… Like something a royal would have worn centuries ago in England or something.

A dark blue suit, with a sword strapped to his back, and strange words, banners, and stars across his chest with a gold belt around his torso. He looks damn good. Good enough for me to fucking kill.

“Start with where the fuck am I and how did I get here?”

He presses his plump lips together and sighs through his nose. “You’re in Faerie.”

I clear my throat and glance back out the window… and blink back over to Cal. “And how the fuck did I get to Faerie? Is this where the shifters are going? Why now? I thought the portals were closed.”

He nods and moves his hands behind him and leans back. “The portals are closed… I’ve been traveling to the Earth realm for the past few decades, I’ve been working with the low fae in your realm, learning about the changes that have occurred since the portals closed. The lessening of the magic, and now the disappearances over the last decade.” He clears his throat. “I can’t say much more… but no. We are not involved in the disappearances of any of the shifters… We haven’t ever brought anyone through the portals since we closed them centuries ago. You’re the first…”

I lay back down and blink up at the white ceiling. “How am I supposed to believe you? I thought you were human… You came onto me, obviously knowing about what I am… And then just disappeared. It’s been a mind fuck these past few months. Thinking that you were a part of all of it.”

“Well, looks like you didn’t care all that much if you’re already knocked up.” He snorts. I slowly turn to glare at him and open and close my mouth before growling. Oh, he’s fucked up now. My wolf is pissed and she’s more of an ‘attack now, don’t ask questions later’ type of gal.

“This pup? Is yours. I thought I was going fucking crazy when Mac’s mother told me that it’s impossible to mate a human. You still don’t smell like a shifter. I don’t fucking get it. Are you fae?”

He cocks an auburn brow at me and glares down at my stomach. “High fae can only mate with other high fae, Angela. You’re a wolf shifter. Still fae, but you don’t have wings. You only have one shifted form, just like the other low fae shifters. Fuck only knows how the hell you have healing powers, but that’s why I brought you through… You were glowing like the damn sun when I found you and were about to be outed to an entire pack. We need answers, and obviously you need some yourself.”

I sigh as I shake my head. “Have your healer run a DNA test. The pup is yours. I wouldn’t lie about that.”

He rolls his eyes, slowly nodding his head. “Sure. Why not?” He stands up and claps his hands. “I’ll let him know that you’re awake. We will get you settled, fed, and we can continue story time, since apparently we’re all a little confused.” He turns on his heel and stalks out of the room, slamming the door behind him.

Well, guess he’s not ready to be a daddy.

Too bad, so sad. I didn’t want to be a mother.

I turn and stare out the window, watching the breeze move the strange purple trees and glance back to the door when a strange male and Cal step back into the room. The first one is holding a beaker in his hand and waves an arm at me. “Another one, hm?” He chuckles and glances at Cal. “How many females have turned up to the palace claiming you’re the father.”

They both chuckle as they step forward, the older male cocking a silver brow at me. He has long silver hair, some lines around his eyes, but other than that, he’s damn attractive. Maybe all high fae are. “Give me your hand. We’re going to test your blood with the Prince’s to see if you have DNA in yours that matches his. It will take about thirty seconds to prove another one of you wrong.”

I turn my gaze to thePriceand laugh out loud. “Oh my fucking hell. You’re a prince. Of the fae realm. Fuck. Me.” I shake my head and place my hand in the healer’s. “This is just great. I’m in another realm, still don’t know what the fuck is going on. Pregnant with this piece of shit’s pup and I’m being called a liar and being laughed at. Nice… No. It’ll be thirty seconds to provebothof you wrong. What do I have to lose? Truly? Why the fuck would I lie?”

They both ignore me. I sigh as I watch as he slices my palm, lets it drip into the beaker, before my power kicks in to heal my wounds in seconds. I lean back and glare at the assholes as Cal adds his blood.

We both watch the healer wrapping his hands around the glass, closing his eyes as he begins murmuring to himself. My eyes widen as his hands glow a gorgeous deep purple, shimmering like glitter with his power. So pretty. He finally turns and sets the beaker on the counter.

“Should take about a minute. So… how are you feeling, Miss?”

I ignore him as I stare at the beaker filled with blood. My nose wrinkles and my stomach rolls. Shit when was the last time I ate? I’m not usually nauseous unless I eat too much or too little…

“Angela, answer the healer.” Cal murmurs from beside me and I roll my eyes.

“Tired, hungry, confused as fuck.” I grunt out and my jaw drops at the blood starts to glow a baby blue, the smoke billowing out of the glass up to the ceiling in gorgeous blue sparkles, dancing under the bright lights.

The healer starts laughing so hard that he bends over and almost falls on his face. “You. Are. Fucked!” He cries out and skips from the room, slamming the door behind him.

I cock a brow at Cal and smirk. “You were saying?”

After Cal and his healer friend stormed from the room, I’ve been on my own. Well, one of them brought me a tray filled with odd fruits and something that resembles a sandwich while I napped. And unfortunately, there’s no meat in sight.

I ate it and was shocked at the flavors that burst on my tongue. Everything is heightened here… The colors, the scenery… the flavors of the food. Hell, even their water tastes so crisp and fresh, better than anything I’ve ever had before.

From what I remember from when I was asleep, I’ve been here for at least a week. Is Mac here somewhere? His parents? What about Scout? My guards?
