And why the hell am I here... Was he in leagues with Margaret when she attacked me? Did he offer to pay her to do it so he could grab me and take me to this realm? That coward hasn’t spoken another word to me since our bloodletting nonsense and I’m getting antsy.
I feel better after eating and drinking, and slowly step out of bed to walk to the bathroom. A shower, using the facilities, and brushing my teeth sounds fucking amazing right about now.
I try to open the doors inside of the room and finally find one that opens. A basic restroom with a shower, a toilet, with some bottles lining the shelves, and towels on the rack. It looks and smells clean. I start the shower, take off my clothes, and turn to look at myself in the mirror. My stomach has rounded a bit more. I turn to the side, curling my hands around the bump. My little pup. Or is it a half high fae or whatever? I’m also ignoring the face that Cal is some sort of prince. It won’t matter anyway. I just want to be sent home and they can forget about everything.
Did the blue glow mean the pup is a boy? Or was it just to show the DNA matched? I frown as I step under the hot water and close my eyes. Jesus, even the water falling against my body feels like heaven. Is everything supposed to be so heightened in this realm?
I search through the colorful bottles and assume this one is shampoo. It smells so clean and fresh, like citrus and it lathers in my hands. So it’s either for my hair or body. I scrub my scalp, finger my strands to get out the knots, rinse, and add conditioner. At least that’s a ‘thing’ here. My hair would be a rat’s nest without it.
I step out of the shower and dry off with two fluffy, white towels and wrap them around me before searching through the drawers for a comb and a toothbrush.
After I feel more like myself, I leave the room and sit on the bed, staring out the window… as I wait for my jailors to come back to bring me more clothes. I assume one of the locked doors is a closet…
I lay down and close my eyes, cradling my belly as I write a mental note about all of the questions I have. That jackass better answer them the next time he comes in. I want to be sent home as soon as possible. As much as I want to learn about this realm and why it feels like heaven and home intertwined, I want to be back with Mac. I need a hug… I need to know what the hell is going on in the pack. Why Margaret attacked me…

“Rise and shine, Miss!” The crazy healer shakes me awake and blinks so damn close to my face. “Time to eat and I want to check on that baby.” He leans back and I glare at him as I sit up, running my fingers through my hair. “Need some clothes?” He chuckles as he spins around and opens up the door that was very much locked when I tried earlier, or whenever that was. “Her you are, madam. After you eat and I check on the baby, Prince Callum will be taking you to the palace to sort out this mess with the king and queen.”
I sigh as I stand up, drop my towels, and change into the soft, blue dress that glides down my body like water. Or butter. Gosh I want butter. “Any undergarments?” I turn and look up to the tall, lean silver fox and he blinks at me.
“No shyness about nudity… noted.” He clears his throat and smiles again. “No… No undergarments. Not here in the fae realm. The Prince has been telling me his tales about the Earth realm, I haven’t been there since… no there really weren’t undergarments back then.” He winks at me and spins me around. “Gorgeous. Sit down and I’ll bring in your meal.”
I comply and watch him skip out of the room, locking me back in here. So I’m not in the palace… which I’m glad about.
Such odd accommodations here, though, I wonder if this is his room. Also… How old is he? A time before undergarments must have been several centuries ago. He doesn’t look a day over forty.
“Ah, here we are.” He sets the tray down beside me after rushing back and grabs a chair from the desk, spinning it before settling down and watches me eat. “That right there are moose berries. Next to those is a plantain, and a wrap filled with carrots, potatoes, and eggplant.”
I chuckle as I begin to eat. “Well at least I know what carrots, potatoes, and eggplant are. Moose berries taste like blackberries but look like brown blueberries… and I assume a plantain is the same as a banana.” I murmur as I finish off the plate and sip on the glass of water.
I want to drink this water for the rest of my life. Maybe I can ask them to fill up some jugs for me before Cal takes me back home. Mac would love it.
“Ah, yes. We brought a lot of seeds over before we closed the portals. So that we didn’t miss too much of the food.” He stands and claps before spinning into the closet, tossing off his own clothes. He was wearing the same white outfit I was when I first woke up… Maybe that’s what the healers here wear?
“Are you a royal healer?”
He chuckles and shakes his head, his silver hair swinging from side to side along his naked back. “No. Just an old friend of the Prince. The royal healers live in the palace… There are maybe five of us still alive. A new one hasn’t been born in centuries… Until you.”
I frown as I watch him dress, blinking at him. This male isold.“Well, that’s interesting. My parents were correct for me to hide it then.”
He nods and spins around showing me his outfit that matches the color of my dress. “What do you think?”
I chuckle as he poses for me and makes kissing noises at me with his lips. His eyes are a gorgeous lavender color that I want to stare into for hours. “We match…” He’s wearing a tunic-type shirt, tight pants that look like leather, and black boots. I’m still barefoot, but not sure if that’s a weird fae thing. Should I ask for shoes?
He nods and grabs my hand so that I follow him. “Indeed we do, my lady.”
“Do I get shoes?”
He looks down at my bare feet and shakes his head. “No, females keep their feet bare except for royalty.” He pulls me along the narrow halls and waves his hand at a panel at the end… it opens up to an elevator. Nice.
“We didn’t seem very high up from my window.” I frown as I notice we’re apparently on the fifth floor.
“We’re on a hill. The lower levels take us to the bottom.” He rubs his hand along my back and pulses some more power into me. “To keep you a little calmer, I can hear your heart racing from here.” He winks at me as we step out to findPrinceCallum standing in the lobby surrounded by guards.
Jesus. This is so fucking weird. He’s wearing another one of his special royal outfits, his auburn hair is slicked back, his green eyes flash with anger before turning and slamming through the glass doors towards a black car.
I notice the top is completely covered in sleek solar panels. I wonder if Cal is the one that jumps around the Earth realm and brings back ideas for their new technology ideas. Like the elevator, this car.
