“I’ve added a new professional responsibility.”

“All right, now, let’s be clear. In case HR’s listening in,you do not have a professional responsibility to have sex with me.”

“Connor, at the rate Sapphire Cove’s going, our HR rep isprobably human trafficking people.”

“You know what I mean. Sex with me is not a requirement ofyour job.”

“I do, and that’s not what I meant.”

“I’m listening,” Connor said.

One arm around Connor’s shoulders, Logan settled backagainst the sofa, forcing Connor to do the same. Connor turned to look at himuntil they were nose to nose, the little gap of distance they’d managed to keepbetween themselves these past twenty-four hours now permanently abolished. “Ijust pissed off a very angry criminal with nothing left to lose, and he’s aboutto get destroyed in the media over that incident in the lobby. I also happen tohave it on good authority he owns several firearms. So until he’s either donesomething stupid enough to land himself back in jail or his lawyers and thehotel reach some kind of agreement, you don’t leave my sight, Baby Blues. You’rea high-value target now. And that means you’re under my constant protection. Twenty-fourseven.”

“Well, isn’t that convenient.” Connor was grinning.

“Indeed. For both of us. And in light of all that, it wouldbe reckless for us not to act on our feelings for each other, because to not doso might drive us apart. And right now, we simply can’t be separated. Andtherefore, we’re going to need to constantly…vent these feelings, hopefully ina more reciprocal fashion so the frustration doesn’t drive us apart either.”

“Should we put all that in writing?” Connor asked.

“Hell, no.”

“All right, well, I’m not sure I can let you follow me forevery step,” Connor said.

“Good luck stopping me.”

Logan bent down and kissed him long and hard, fighting thedesire to tear Connor’s clothes all the way off this time. Connor’s handtraveled to the bulge in Logan’s crotch, but lightly, as if he was sayinggoodbye. For now. Which was a perfect opportunity for what Logan was going tosay next.

“Oh, don’t worry about that. I’ll have Spencer Chase takecare of it down in the sea caves.”

“Logan!”

Rage lit up Connor’s eyes as he closed his hand aroundLogan’s bulge.

“Stop, stop,” Logan bellowed. “I was just getting you backfor the dad thing.”

They were seated upright now, noses touching.

“I guess I deserved that,” Connor said.

“Kinda, yeah.”

“But Logan, what you did in the lobby…I mean, I’ve had agood life, but that’s the first time anyone’s ever really stuck up for me likethat.”

Logan kissed him again, gently this time. “Yeah, well, there’s plenty more firsts where that came from.”

Then, before either of them could get in another wisecrackto deflect from the gravity of their feelings, Logan slipped free of Connor’sembrace.

“Wait here,” Logan said. “I’m going to go make sure the lobby’sreally clear and see if there’s been any fallout.”

“All right, after that, I’m going to visit the guests wholost houses last night.”

“We’regoing to visit the guests who losthouses last night.”

Connor grinned. “Wow. So you’re really serious about thissecurity routine.”

“As serious as that orgasm you just had.” With a half bow,Logan stepped carefully from the office and pulled the door shut before Connorcould protest.
