A time to break down,
And a time to build up;
A time to weep,
And a time to laugh;
A time to mourn,
And a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones,
And a time to gather stones;
A time to embrace,
And a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to gain,
And a time to lose;
A time to keep,
And a time to throw away;
A time to tear,
And a time to sew;
A time to keep silence,
And a time to speak;
A time to love,
And a time to hate;
A time of war,
And a time of peace.
“I guess ‘A time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing’ applies to us,” Diehl said. “Do you think it’s a good thing to be apart?”
“We’re not apart all the time. We’ll call each other every day, if you want. We’ll see each other when we can.”
“What if our love grows cold?”
“Are you a poet now?” Skye asked. “If our love grows cold, then we’re not meant to be, are we? I would think if we love each other, our love will only grow stronger.”
“Good point. This is yet another test.”
“We can look at it that way,” Skye said. “You have to consider the fact that your children and your dad need you. Once their hearts are settled, then we can work on each other.”
“Skye?”
“I’m right here.” Skye wondered why he called her name.
