I should take the damn thing out.

But I can’t.

Christos knew what he was about. My climaxes are intense even when I’m alone and I touch myself. Most of the time I think about the two of us… other times, I think about Dimitri.

“The shop’s closing soon. I’ll walk you back.”

“Are you admitting defeat?”

“After your last move there’s no mathematical way I can overtake you.”

I smile. “Rematch sometime?”

He smiles faintly, “Maybe.”

“Maybe?”

“I like you. I can’t help it. If we keep spending time together like this… I’ll want more.”

“Don’t. Please don’t ruin the start of our beautiful friendship.”

“Friend zone. There’s a word we should’ve used.”

“Actually, it’s two. So much for your proper English education.”

“Come on, sassy. It’s time to go before we get kicked out.” We put the borrowed game back on the shelf by a stack of hardcover books people leave for others to enjoy. I run my finger across a few plucking out a copy of Wuthering Heights.

“Really? Jane Austen?”

“I have a thing for tortured bad boys.”

“Ah, you’d choose Heathcliff?”

“Unfortunately. Probably every time. My father says I’m a healer; a fixer.”

“Who do you think you are?”

“That’s the thing. I don’t know. It’s mainly why I came here.”

He’s silent pondering my words as we put on our coats and walk out into the chilly, wet night. “I’m afraid you are right. You are in desperate need of a friend. Come on fair maiden, I’ll see you home.”

“Will you be my friend, Sir Benjamin?”

“Yes,” he sighs, “I’m afraid I will.”

We walk back through a mist of light rain, laughing and jumping puddles. In no time we’re back out in front of my dorm. “I had a nice time tonight. Actually, I had a really good time. It was the most fun I’ve had in a long time.”

“I had a splendid time as well.”

“Splendid?” I giggle, “Did you just say splendid?”

“I bloody well did.”

“Ah, Ben. I wish I met you months ago.”

“What’s wrong with right now?”

“Everything.”
