“Come one. Get dressed. I want you to meet Will and Simone.”

She scrunches up her nose. “Will I smell like hay and dung after?”

“Probably.”

She rolls her eyes, “Fine. But only because I don’t want to stay in, longing for Philip anymore.”

“Good. We should go out tonight.”

“Really?”

“Yes. And I know just the club. The Trojan Horse.”

“That place is a myth Jessie. It doesn’t exist.”

“Oh, it does. My friend Alex and his wife Helena own it.

“You know Alex Crawford.”

“I do. I’ve even seen him naked.”

With a grin, I scroll through my phone finding his number.

“Jessie?”

“Hello Alex. I’m coming to your club tonight and I’m bringing a friend. But we won’t play… unless we want to.”

“He won’t like this.”

“Who cares. We’re not together Alex. Maybe we never were.”

“Fuck. Bloody hell. Fine. I’ll have your name on the VIP list. Don’t do anything stupid you might regret.”

I respond by ending the call.

“We’re in.”

“Let’s get to the barn. I’ll mentally start planning our outfits.”

“Sounds good. Thanks, Jecca. I would have never pictured this when I answered your ad looking for a roommate, but I’m glad I walked into the coffee shop that day.”

“Me, too. I’m not sure about Christos and Phillip but we—Jessie Montgomery, are definitely fated.”

“I agree.”

With a hop in my step, I hurry to my room to get changed into jeans. I’m riding Simone around the ring tonight and I don’t even care I’m a beginner. On her, I’m going to feel like a champion.
