He averted his eyes, shifting uncomfortably. “Club shit? I don’t know? Prez doesn’t discuss personal shit. I’m sorry, Luce. I thought you were good for him.”

“Liar. You know everything, but you’re a loyal VP. Just like I knew you would be.” I pointed my finger at the door. “Leave. Men in the MC aren’t welcome here anymore.”

He held up his hand. “Fine. I’m out. I only came by to pack the rest of my things.”

“And kiss Rog goodbye?” I taunted.

“Hey!” Dev shouted, “Don’t bring my man into this.”

“Sorry. That was a low one. But you have to admit that Rog is going to miss him.” I slumped down on the couch, “I suck at break-ups.”

“Everyone does. And yeah, Rog is going to miss you, Federico.”

He paused, “I’m loyal to him, but I am to you too, Luce. Call me, if you ever need something you don’t want him to know about.”

I stood to hug him goodbye. “Be safe in Oakland. Find some girl, take her for a ride on your bike by the beach… fall in love…”

“Why, so I can end up like you?”

“Ass,” I smacked his arm as he walked out.

“Ugh, I don’t want to go to work tomorrow.”

“Me either, but I guess this pity party is over,” I started cleaning up the sticky mixer that dripped all over the counter.

“You’ll be okay. You still have me and Rog.”

“I made the biggest mistake of my life moving here. At first, the woods were a welcome change. But now they’re filled with nothing but loneliness.”

“Sleep it off. You’ll feel differently in the morning.”

“What if I don’t?” I asked the empty apartment when she had left.
