That’s not the type of person I am. I might have agreed to go to the city with Mr. Strickland and Alex, but I’m not going to live it up, like Alex is planning.
Getting back to the task at hand, I ask, “So, should I pack casual clothes or business professional ones?”
He looks confused at my question. “Uh, both, just in case.”
I grab a weekend duffle bag and start packing clothes. I don’t have many clothes left here since most are at his house.
Alex sits on the edge of my bed, running hishand along my black comforter. “Don’t forget to pack some club attire.”
I poke my head out of my closet. “Club attire? I don’t have that.”
When would I have time to go clubbing? With my mother’s death and piles of bills and long work hours, I barely have time to see my best friend, Kate.
“Don’t worry, we can always shop for some when we get to the city.”
I shake my head before disappearing back into the closet to finish packing. “I’ll pass. Clubbing isn’t really my thing.”
“Have you ever tried it?” His chuckle lets me know that he already knows my answer.
“Well, no, but I don’t have to try hard drugs to know it’s not for me.”
He laughs. “Good point, but I think you will enjoy the club. Just give it a chance. I’ll be there, and I promise you will have a great time.”
The idea of grinding against Alex in a crowded club causes my face to flush with heat.
I throw several pairs of panties into my duffle bag before joining Alex back in my bedroom. Giving in, I say, “Fine, but I draw the line at strip clubs.”
There’s no way I can watch a woman grind on the pole, shake her perfect ass, and strip for Alex without getting jealous.
Alex’s eyes darken and watch my every move as he jumps up and stalks toward me. He pins meagainst my closet door; his erection poking me in my lower belly.
“I can promise you, the only person I’m interested in seeing strip for me is you, Elise. That would be a fantasy come true.”
I don’t have a chance to process his statement before his lips collide with mine.
Chapter Fourteen
ELISE
A fucking helicopter.
That’s how we get to the city.
I didn’t even know Mr. Strickland or Strickland Enterprises owned a helicopter.
It was a beautiful trip up here, but for two and a half hours, I was pressed against Alex. Smelling his amber and woodsy scent. Craving him.
He kept brushing his hand against my thigh, teasing me. Whether or not it was done on purpose, I’ll never know, but I felt like I was going to explode the entire flight.
If his dad, my boss, wasn’t a few feet away, I would have moved his hand to where I really wanted it and taken things further.
Maybe next time.
I follow behind Mr. Strickland as we walk through the hotel. Our footsteps echo throughout the very elegant, upscale hotel lobby. Alex links hishand with mine as the three of us get into the elevator.
Even before Mr. Strickland pulled out a tiny golden key from his pants pocket, I should have known this wasn’t going to be a normal hotel room stay.
As soon as he inserts and turns the key in the elevator control panel, an automated female voice sounds from a hidden speaker.
