She narrows her eyebrows. “What if I wanted to fly to New York or Los Angeles?”
I smile because these would be simple requests to make happen. “Then we will hop on a plane.”
“What if I wanted to go to London, Paris, or Rome?” Her question makes my smile grow. Anything she wants, I’ll make it happen if I can.
“We can take the red eye. I’d love to show you the world.”
She frowns. “You’d really take me wherever I want to go?”
I turn her body so she’s facing me. “Of course, I would.”
Does she not realize I’m in this relationship for the long haul?
“How did I get so lucky?”
Her gaze locks with mine, and I swear I see the truth in her eyes. She really thinks she’s the lucky one here.
“I ask myself the same thing every single night after you fall asleep in my arms.”
She steps closer to me and closes her eyes as her lips press into mine.
My heart pounds in my chest and swells with love.
Love.
Is that what I’m feeling?
It sure feels that way, but it’s too soon. Hell, we are literally on our first date right now. I shouldn’t be thinking about love.
Elise pulls away and glances at the yacht. “So, do we just walk on, or do we need to wait to get permission from the captain?”
“We can just walk on. The captain can see us from the bridge, but we can ask for permission if you want.”
Before Elise can step onto the yacht, I undo the straps of her heels and take them off. I kick off mine and peel off my socks before following her onto the boat.
She looks around at the elegant and modern finishes. “Wow, this is very nice.”
“Let’s head up to the front.”
She hesitates for a moment before walkingtowards the short flight of stairs that lead up to the bow.
I drop our shoes in the shoe bin before following her up the steps.
Her gasp has my feet moving at double speed.
“Alex, you planned all of this?” She gestures to the table set up with a tray of chocolate dipped strawberries, champagne, and a fruit and cheese board.
“I wanted the second part of the date to be relaxing and nice. How about we go look at the bed they set up on the bow?”
Her face lights up as she skips to the makeshift bed.
There’s got to be a dozen fluffy pillows all around the circle bed, and rose petals are scattered around, giving it the romantic vibe I was hoping for.
Elise sees this and looks at me like I just gave her the date of her dreams.
I hope I did, because I would do anything to make her happy.
She walks back over to me and grins. “Now this is romantic. I could get used to this, you know.”
